Usability, Look and Feel - Bbet Has a Simple Website Design That Struggles to Load

The first in this series of mini reviews is a look at the usability, look and feel of the desktop website and mobile app of the operator. We will touch on topics like how intuitive the site is to navigate, whether the layout is simple or complicated, if the design is aesthetically pleasing or not, and more.

When we first visited Bbet Australia‘s site, we found that the homepage took an excruciatingly long time to load. Sometimes it just partly loaded or refused to load at all.

When the homepage does load, it shows info on ‘Next to Jump’ (which you can filter by gallops, greyhounds and harness), ‘Upcoming Sports’ and ‘Trending Bets’. As well as the ‘Home’ tab, there are only three others – ‘Racing’, ‘Sports’ and ‘Promotions’ – which makes navigation around the website fairly easy.

Ignoring the poor loading times, let’s consider the general website design. Bbet has a blue and orange theme, which is quite a nice colour scheme. The layout is simple and not too cluttered, which is helpful for those of you who are new to betting. But overall the design is outdated – it is in serious need of an overhaul.

There is also an app available for download, which is pretty much the same as the desktop website with most of the same features. You can download this directly from the Bbet website, and it’s compatible with most devices.

Unfortunately we’re forced to give low Bbet ratings in this section of our Bbet reviews. Though it is worth keeping in mind that Bbet is a relatively new online betting site, and hopefully improvements will come in time.

Payment Methods - Bbet Accepts a Decent Number of Options

The second part in these reviews is regarding the available payment methods – what are they? Can you use the same methods for deposits and withdrawals? How long are processing times? Are there any fees? Are there limits? We’ll answer all of these questions now.

Bbet Australia has a below average number of payment methods. Here is a list of the deposit options available to you:

  • Visa Debit
  • Visa Credit
  • Mastercard Debit
  • Mastercard Credit
  • POLi
  • BPay
  • Bank Transfer
  • Cheque
  • Cash Deposit (at any Westpac branch or race course)

When it comes to withdrawal options, the only ones in the above list that are currently accepted are debit cards, credit cards and bank transfers.

As you will have noticed, none of the popular eWallets are available. This is a huge downside to betting with Bbet. Having said that, the large majority of bettors will probably see at least one payment method in the above list that they regularly use.

The minimum deposit limit is $10, and the minimum withdrawal limit is the same. There are no transaction fees. It can take up to 48 hours for deposited funds to appear in your account. Withdrawals generally take 2-3 business days – Bbet processes all withdrawal requests at 11am AEST, so if you request a withdrawal on weekends or public holidays, it won’t be processed until the next business day.

Taking everything into account, we believe that this operator deserves slightly below average Bbet ratings in this part of our Bbet reviews.

Customer Support - Bbet Has Few Options But Helpful Support Staff

The third section of our reviews focuses on the customer support options available to you, their opening times, and how helpful the staff are.

The first thing we always suggest when encountering a problem with your account, your wagers, your bonus offers, or anything else when it comes to using online betting sites, is to check the operator’s FAQ section before contacting customer support.

Bbet Australia has a separate page dedicated to frequently asked questions. You can find a link to it in the footer of each web page under the heading ‘Questions’. It’s far from the most extensive FAQ section we’ve seen, with only fifteen headings across all possible problem areas – security, payments, contact details, personal accounts and general betting queries.

The most common and simple issues are dealt with in this section, but for anything else – or if you’re the type of person who prefers to speak to a trained representative – then the main way of contacting customer support at Bbet is via email. There are also rumours of a telephone support line, but info on this is inconsistent, and the only phone number we could find on the website is mentioned specifically in regards to lost account details.

The downside is that there is currently no live chat feature available, which is now a staple of online betting websites. However, using the support options available to you, you should find the staff to be responsive and helpful.

Overall we’re giving slightly below average Bbet ratings in this section of our Bbet reviews. To compare, we suggest you take a look at the customer support options of a rival betting site which does have a live chat function – so why not check out our Moneyball reviews.

License and Security - Bbet Is Fully Licensed and Secure

In the next section of our rigorous reviews, we will fully discuss the answer to the most important question that you should ask yourself before you decide to trust an online betting website that you haven’t used before, especially one that is so new to online betting and therefore hasn’t had time to build a trustworthy reputation yet. That question is, of course, ‘is Bbet secure?’

The reason that this question is so essential is because there are quite a lot of unrecognised online betting sites out there whose main aim is just to scam as many unexpecting customers as possible before word spreads. So you can see, the reputability of an operator is by far the most important thing you need to determine before you fall prey to a scam and waste all of your time, effort and – most importantly – your hard-earned money.

The first thing you should check when making sure an operator is legit is whether it is fully licensed and regulated by a gambling regulatory authority. There are many of these institutions around the world, some more renowned than others. So even if a site does have a license, depending on where that license is from, it might not be as closely regulated as you’d expect.

The most distinguished regulatory authorities, known as the ‘Big 4’, are the UK Gambling Commission, the Malta Gaming Authority, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, and the Gibraltar Betting and Gaming Association. A license from one or multiple of these is a sure sign that a betting website is reliable.

As for Bbet Australia, it holds a license from Racing New South Wales. This may not be an internationally recognised regulatory authority, but it is well-known and trusted in Australia; and such a license means that Bbet is a fully licensed bookmaker in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. Bbet is also licensed by NSW Bookmakers Cooperative and is a member of the NSW Bookmakers Co-Op.

In fact, although Bbet has only been online since 2019, it was created by Luke Behrmann of the Behrmann Group Ltd., which was founded in 2000. Any established company that has been around for so long will not risk its reputation by supporting a betting website that would even consider scamming people.

With all of this information, we are confident that Bbet is completely trustworthy, and therefore we’re awarding top Bbet ratings for the licensing and security section of our Bbet reviews.

New South Wales

Rewards and Loyalty Program - Nothing to See Here

The final part of the first half of our reviews will take a look at Bbet Australia‘s rewards and loyalty program – if it actually has one to offer, of course.

Rewards and loyalty programs are very common in online sports betting, with almost every betting site offering some kind of enticing program to keep its existing customers loyal.

The average rewards and loyalty program makes use of a comp points system. Essentially, frequent play earns you points, and the more points you get, the quicker you progress through the loyalty levels. Each level earns you more and better rewards.

Rewards can include exclusive bonus offers, real money rewards, a personal account manager, prioritised withdrawals, and even tickets for events and trips, among other things.

Unfortunately, Bbet doesn’t currently offer this or any other kind of rewards program. This means we are forced to give the lowest possible Bbet ratings in our Bbet reviews for this aspect of the operator.

Bbet Sports Betting

The horse racing coverage at Bbet is extensive, with all loads of bets available on all of the top Australian and New Zealand race meetings, such as Cranbourne, Gosford, Arawa Park and more. There is also a lot of international racing coverage in places like the UK, USA, South Africa, Japan and Ireland. This also includes harness racing. And as for greyhounds, the coverage is equally impressive.

The downside is, the same can’t be said for the other sports that you can bet on at Bbet. There are about 15 sports in all – slightly below the average number – which include all of Australia’s most popular options. But unfortunately the other 13ish sports don’t have as many betting markets as the racing.

For information on one of Bbet’s competitors that has much more sports with many betting markets, read our Unibet reviews.

Odds

The odds are Bbet are competitive when you compare them to the operator’s closest rivals. For example, when compared to PointsBet over a number of cricket matches and Aussie rules games, Bbet’s overround came out as around 4% better.

Live Betting and Streaming

The most recent Australian gambling laws mean that live betting online isn’t legal – instead, operators are only allowed to display the live odds on their site, while you have to place your wagers over the phone.

As for live streaming, unfortunately SportsChamps doesn’t have it at the present time. If that’s a problem for you, you should check out our BetEasy Australia review for more details on an operator that does offer live streaming.

Limits

The maximum payouts are listed in Bbet’s terms and conditions. They are as follows:

  • $2000 for sporting events
  • $5000 for Metropolitan Gallops meetings
  • $3000 for Non-Metropolitan Gallops meeting
  • $1500 for greyhound, harness or International Racing meetings.
  • Exotics, either no more than 100% of the SUP tote pool or $20,000, whichever is less.

As for minimum bet limits, these are state-based, and also listed in the terms and conditions:

  • Victoria: To win $1k (place $400) on Metro races and $1k (place $400) on Provincial Meetings.
  • New South Wales: To win $1k (place $400) on all NSW Racing.
  • Queensland: To win $1k (place $400) on all QLD Racing.
  • South Australia: To win $1k (place $400) on all SA Racing.
  • Western Australia: No minimum bet limit.
  • Tasmania: To win $1k (place $400) on all TAS Racing.
  • Northern Territory: No minimum bet limit.

Product Summary

Overall,  Bbet Australia has a decent sportsbook, especially for such a new addition to the online betting industry, and deserves slightly above average SportsChamps ratings in these SportsChamps reviews.

The good news is that the racing coverage is excellent, the odds are impressive, and the minimum betting limits are in-line with Australian state legislation. The bad news is that if you prefer betting on sports other than horse and greyhound racing, Bbet probably isn’t the place for you, plus the maximum payouts are much lower than other operators.

Overall Conclusion

As you’ve read through each of our Bbet reviews, you will notice that most of the Bbet ratings have been below average.

The website is outdated and slow to load, there are no eWallet payment methods accepted, there is no live chat feature, and there is no rewards and loyalty program to speak of. These are the main flaws of Bbet Australia.

However, there are also some benefits to betting with Bbet: first and foremost, the operator is fully licensed and legit; the website is uncluttered and easy to use; there are a decent number of available payment methods; the withdrawal times are quick and there are no transaction fees; and finally, the support staff is responsive and helpful.

So as you can see, although the individual ratings throughout these reviews have been relatively low, overall the benefits outweigh the flaws. Plus, as we’ve mentioned previously, Bbet is new to online betting; it is an up-and-coming website that will only improve as time goes on.

But if the idea of committing to such an inexperienced betting site, you may feel more comfortable putting your money into the largest international operator – so take a look at our Bet365 ratings or find out “is Loot.Bet reliable?” with our exclusive operator reviews.
