Usability, Look and Feel - SportsChamps Is Nice to Look at and Easy to Use

The first of our mini SportsChamps reviews is a look at the usability, look and feel of both the operator’s desktop site and mobile app. Basically, we’ll discuss things like the simplicity of the website’s layout, how easy it is to navigate around the site, if it has a design pleasing to the eye or not, etc.

When we first checked out SportsChamps Australia‘s desktop site, we found that the homepage contained a useful and fun animated video that explains exactly what tournament betting is, along with a nice simple explanation of how it works. It also states that there are 500+ tournaments each week, 12+ sports to choose from, and $1M+ in prizes during the last month, with 10,000+ punters winning cash. How enticing!

We next made our way to the tournament betting lobby – though for some reason there isn’t a direct link to it on the homepage; instead we had to click on any of the links at the top of the page, then ‘Tournaments’. At the tournament betting lobby we saw a list of the available sports betting markets across the top, as well as four tabs – ‘Lobby’, ‘Enter Code’, ‘Tutorials’ and ‘Need Help?’ on the left side and links to the essential pages in the footer.

The layout is simple, not too cluttered. Everything you need is right there, no need to even scroll down. Ideal for anyone who is new to betting. Although it’s unusually difficult to first find the tournament betting lobby, once you’re on it it’s nice and easy to navigate around.

The colour scheme – mainly black and red – is also aesthetically pleasing, and the logo is sleek and professional-looking. Overall the website design is attractive and efficient.

There is also an app you can download for free on iOS and Android devices, the link to which you’ll find on the homepage. The app is user friendly and has most of the same features as the desktop site.

Taking everything into account, we are giving above average SportsChamps ratings in this part of our SportsChamps reviews.

Payment Methods - SportsChamps Only Accepts Cards and Bank Transfers

The second part in these reviews is about the payment methods available to you – what are they? Are the same methods allowed for deposits and withdrawals? What are processing times like? Are there transaction fees? What about transaction limits? You’ll find the answer to all of these questions here.

The number of payment methods at SportsChamps Australia is well below average. Usually there will be around 10 options at the very least, but SportsChamps only accepts deposits from debit / credit card and bank transfer.

When it comes to withdrawal options, the only payment method that is currently accepted is bank EFT. Having only one withdrawal option is a real downside – more flexibility would be greatly appreciated!

As you will have noticed, there are no eWallets accepted. This is a huge flaw to betting with SportsChamps. However, pretty much everyone has a debit or credit card – or both – and so even if your most preferred payment method isn’t available, you still shouldn’t have any trouble making transactions with SportsChamps.

The minimum deposit limit is $1, and the minimum withdrawal limit is $10. There is no specific maximum withdrawal amount stated, but the maximum you can win in a single day is $35,000. These amounts are pretty flexible when you compare them to other betting websites, and so are convenient for anyone no matter how high or low you want to go.

There are no transaction fees. Withdrawals generally take 24 hours, though any withdrawal request made after 5pm AEST or on weekends or public holidays can take anywhere between one and five business days.

Bear in mind, any deposits into an account must be bet through (known as being ‘turned over’) at least once before you can make a withdrawal.

Considering everything, we have decided that the operator deserves below average SportsChamps ratings in this section of our SportsChamps reviews. For a relatively new Australia-based fixed odds betting site with more payment options, take a look at our Bbet reviews.

Customer Support - SportsChamps Has a Responsive and Helpful Support Staff

The third part of these reviews focuses on the available customer support options, including the opening times and how responsive and helpful the staff are.

The first thing we suggest you should do when you run into any kind of issue – whether it’s with your account, your bets, or anything else that could possibly go wrong or you may be curious about when it comes to betting online – is to read through the site’s FAQ section before you bother contacting their customer support.

At SportsChamps Australia, the FAQ section is a little different than usual for betting sites. Instead of a list of frequently asked questions, clicking on the ‘Need Help?’ tab activates a pop up window, which appears on the right side of the page. On that pop up window is a search bar where you can find answers to your questions.

So whether you have problems security, payments, contact details, personal accounts and general betting queries just type in the keyword and the most relevant answers will come up.

You can also find information on tournament betting if it’s new to you by clicking on the ‘Tutorials’ tab on the left or the ‘How It Works’ link at the bottom.

Searching for answers is the best way to deal with all of your common and simple problems. For anything else – or if you prefer to speak to a trained representative – then there are three methods of contact listed on the ‘Contact Us’ page. These are a live chat feature – which can also be accessed by clicking on the ‘Need Help?’ tab – email and post (though the site does joke ‘Are you one of the 27 people who still post mail?’ about this last option).

The downside is that there is currently no telephone support available, which isn’t quite as common as you’d expect, but some people understandably prefer hearing a friendly voice when they need help. On the bright side, if you use the support options available, you should find the staff to be responsive and helpful.

Overall we think the operator’s customer support deserves average SportsChamps ratings in this part of our SportsChamps reviews. But don’t take our word for it – we suggest you compare SportsChamps’ customer support options with Moneyball Australia, which may not have phone support either, but has the bonus of being contactable via social media sites.

License and Security - SportsChamps Is Licensed and Secure

In this section of our dedicated reviews, we will delve into the answer to the most essential question that you definitely need to ask yourself before deciding to trust any online gambling site that you haven’t yet used – especially one that is only five years old and therefore hasn’t had much time to build a reliable reputation. That question: ‘is SportsChamps secure?’

The reason that this is such an important question is because there are quite a few shady operators on the market who only exist in order to scam as many unsuspecting punters as possible before the word spreads. So you see, the reliability of a betting site is by far the most important aspect you need to find the answer to, otherwise there’s a chance you could fall prey to a scam and waste all of your time and effort, as well as your hard-earned money.

The first thing we suggest you check when figuring out if an operator is legit is whether it is licensed and regulated by a recognised gambling regulatory authority. There are many reputable institutions around the world that regulate betting sites, with some of them being more distinguished than others. So even if an operator does hold a license, it might not be as closely regulated as you’d expect.

The most renowned regulatory authorities are widely known as the ‘Big 4’. These are the UK Gambling Commission, the Malta Gaming Authority, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, and the Gibraltar Betting and Gaming Association. A license from one or more of these is basically a guarantee that an operator is reliable.

As for SportsChamps Australia, it holds a license from Australia’s Northern Territory Government, as well as being governed by the South Australian Gambling Codes of Practice.

Although not internationally recognised regulatory authorities, they are well-known and trusted within Australia.

Another sign of reliability is the fact that SportsChamps’ original parent company, BetStar, was sold to Ladbrokes plc. in 2014. As you probably know, Ladbrokes is an internationally renowned bookie that is definitely trustworthy.

With all of this information to go off, we are 100% sure that this operator is completely reputable, and therefore we are awarding the top possible SportsChamps ratings for this section of our SportsChamps reviews.

Rewards and Loyalty Program - Nothing to See Here

The final section of this first half of our reviews will discuss SportsChamps Australia‘s rewards and loyalty program – or the lack of one, to be exact.

Rewards and loyalty programs have become a staple in online sports betting, with almost all of the betting sites on the market offering some type of rewards and loyalty program in order to keep its customers coming back.

The usual rewards and loyalty program consists of a comp points system. Basically, you can earn points by frequent play. The more points you earn, the quicker you progress through the different loyalty levels. With each level you receive better rewards.

The various rewards can include exclusive bonus offers, real money rewards, a personal account manager, prioritised withdrawals, and even tickets for events and trips, as well as other possibilities.

All sounds good, right? Well the bad news is that SportsChamps doesn’t offer this or any rewards and loyalty program at the present time. Because of this, we have to give the lowest SportsChamps ratings possible for this aspect in our SportsChamps reviews.

Betting Markets

There are currently 13 tabs for different betting markets at the tournament betting lobby, which is below average when compared to the usual online bookmaker. Here’s a list of them in order:

  • Specials
  • Racing
  • Target
  • Fast Games
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • NRL
  • AFL
  • Golf
  • Satellites
  • Baseball
  • All Sports
  • Free Racing

Possible racing bets you can make include virtual win, place, exacta, trifecta, etc., while with other sports you can bet on the match result, half-time/full-time, first scorer, total points and more.

Odds

Odds are calculated slightly differently that you’ve likely come to expect, as at SportsChamps you’re essentially wagering on virtual outcomes. This also means that the odds aren’t as important as at fixed odds bookies, because your total winnings are affected by your tournament ranking rather than the odds of any single bet.

But don’t worry, the odds are still listed in the decimal format, so you won’t find it difficult to understand what’s going on.

In terms of payouts, usually the top 25% to 40% of the highest performing punters in a tournament will take home some money, with prize pools ranging from a few thousand to $20,000+.

Live Betting and Streaming

The latest Australian gambling laws mean that in-play betting isn’t allowed at the standard fixed odds betting site – instead, they are only allowed to display the live odds, and you have to place the bets over the phone.

One of the bonuses of SportsChamps is that these rules don’t apply to virtual betting, meaning you can place in-play virtual bets online.

Unfortunately SportsChamps doesn’t offer live streaming. If that’s a deal-breaker for you, you may want to read our BetEasy ratings for more information on an operator that does have live streaming.

Limits

The cheapest tournaments have entry fees from as little as $2 while the most expensive cost $100 to enter. The maximum amount you can win in a single day is $35,000.

Product Summary

SportsChamps Australia is a unique and impressive online betting site and overall its sportsbook deserves high SportsChamps ratings in these SportsChamps reviews. It has flexible betting and winning limits and high payout rates, ideal for winning high amounts of money without spending much, and it also allows in-play betting online, which is a huge benefit in Australia.

The real benefit of SportsChamps is the tournament betting – you won’t find that in many other places. So if you like the idea of betting against other punters rather than betting against the house (they say the house always wins, after all!), check SportsChamps out now.

FAQ

🏅Is SportsChamps one of the best online betting sites on the Australian market?

SportsChamps is just one of countless betting sites available for Aussies. There are a couple of things that make it unique: one is the fact that it was founded and is operated in Oz; also it focuses on tournament betting – essentially you bet against other punters rather than the house. If this site sounds like one you’d enjoy betting with, take a look at our dedicated review for all of our SportsChamps ratings.

🌟Is SportsChamps Australia reliable?

The reliability of an online betting website is the most important thing you need to determine before you trust with your time, effort and money. You can find full details on SportsChamps’ reputability by checking out our dedicated review.

What do I do if I encounter a problem while betting with SportsChamps?

If you ever run into a problem with SportsChamps or any other operator, we suggest you check the site’s FAQ section first. If that doesn’t help – or if you prefer to speak to a trained representative – then read our dedicated SportsChamps reviews for more info on how to contact the operator’s customer service team.

Overall Conclusion

As you’ve seen across all of our mini SportsChamps reviews, most of our SportsChamps ratings have been average or better.

As well as the fact that SportsChamps Australia is unique in the fact it is one of the only tournament betting sites and therefore promotes the social aspect of betting against other punters, the main advantages of the site include a nice website design and simple layout, relatively flexible bet and win limits, responsive and helpful customer support staff members with a live chat feature available, and a high reputability rating.

The few disadvantages of SportsChamps are the small number or payment methods available, the lack of phone support, and the fact that there’s no rewards and loyalty program.

Plus, of course, if you prefer to do your betting at a traditional fixed odds bookie, then SportsChamps simply isn’t for you. If that’s the case, you might want to check out the largest international fixed odds bookie – so why not read our Loot.Bet reviews or our Bet365 reviews.
