This Wednesday we have been treated to no less than three Jumps meetings, two during the day at Newton Abbot and Worcester, plus a very exciting evening card up at Perth.
And Perth is my starting point today, as I have a really strong NAP selection running there in the 6.30 race. But first, Iāll go through my other two hot picks for Wednesday. I have one bet from each of the three meetings, and also in my group chat I will put up some selections for this week's Ebor meeting at York as a bonus!
With plenty of great Jumps racing taking place this week, it could be just the right time to take advantage of my special bookmaker offer for today, which comes from BetUK. If you place a Ā£10 bet, youāll get Ā£30 in free bets as a bonus. Now that sounds like a pretty good deal to me!
Iām going to go off at a slight tangent here, but bear with me. The opener at Worcester tomorrow is a very interesting race. The favourite for this race, Who Is That, is trained by Chris Gordon. He is a very likeable horse and probably the market is right where he is concerned.
However, he is also a horse that needs everything to go right for him and I think he could be slightly vulnerable here. He battled back well last time out after being headed up the straight, but his performance in low-key company was very much a case of āwhat you see is what you getā. The point being, Iām not convinced he has much more to give.
However, Iām much more positive about Man Of The North, who runs for Dave Roberts. He acts very well on good ground and he jumps particularly well, which will stand him in good stead here. He ran a great race to finish runner up at Newton Abbot on his penultimate start and the horse that beat him won very well next time out to frank the form.
He also travelled very well for a long way over a marathon 3m 3f at Stratford last time out, so he clearly stays, but the drop back to this trip will see him fully effective again and his form is as good as any in the field. I think Man Of The North can push the Favourite all the way here, and at a much more attractive price.
Harry Fry has started this season well and Monjoules has been in great form all year, so I think he will take some stopping here. He has done particularly well over Hurdles for Harry Fry, having won three of his five starts and will be hard to beat here if he is in the same sort of form.
He was actually rather unlucky at Fontwell, if it wasnāt for the head-bobbing finish going against him, he could have made it four wins for the team. He also had a really good spin at Salisbury on the flat more recently, finishing second, which will have put him tip-top shape for this race.
He is only 1lb higher here than he was at Fontwell a few weeks back and he can run on almost any type of going. This time, we should see even more improvement in Monjules and heās one to beat here.
My NAP selection for Wednesday comes in the 2-mile Handicap Chase, where I think Glentruan is going to take all of the beating. This is only his second chase start to date and he did make a few mistakes in his first start, but had plenty of excuses that day.
He had a spin here at Perth over hurdles last month and he ran well to finish third in a much stronger race than the one he contests this time around. This leaves him ahead of the Handicapper, despite the fact that heās carrying top weight in this field.
He tries 2 miles here when he is usually a 2Ā½ miler over fences, but I think this will sharpen up his jumping and make him hard to catch. I want to see him ridden prominently here as I think if he jumps well, he will be really hard to peg back up the straight.
He advertises really solid credentials against a few weaker rivals here, but his jumping is going to be key, as his main rival, Somewhat Cloudy, generally jumps consistently well but I think Glentruanās staying power will help him see out the finish.
Donāt forget, there are over Ā£250 worth of free bet offers right here for you to take advantage of, make sure you take a close look.
