My Ante Post Tip for the Brown Advisory Chase - Cheltenham 2023

Now onto the first selection of the week and it comes in the Brown Advisory chase where Gerri Colombe is the current 7/4 favourite but with the ground looking to be on the good side, I think you have to look elsewhere in the market. Gerri Colombe needs soft or deep ground to show his best form and I would much rather side with the 9yo Thyme Hill who has turned into a decent chaser after winning Grade 1’s over hurdles throughout his career.

He takes his chance in the novice chase event here and on the basis of the ground turning out to be drier than expected, he has to come into this race with a huge chance at 5/1.

He has a very valuable asset and that is his turn of foot on this ground and he has had plenty of experience around Cheltenham which should bode very well for him on the day.

He is absolutely primed for his run here and even though the current favourite Gerri Colombe may turn out to be the best of these in the long run, for now, I think the one to beat and the bet of the race is Thyme Hill for Phillip Hobbs at 5/1!
