Yes, it’s ante post review time again and in my experience, this is the part that many tipsters dread. But not me. Once again, we have had another very profitable week if you made use of my ante post betting tips for the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
I’ve always found Bet365 to be consistently good when it comes to horse racing and once again they came up trumps by ensuring that ante post prices for Cheltenham 2023 were available right when I needed them.
We were guaranteed profit after the very first race, when Marine Nationale, my NAP for the 2023 Cheltenham Festival, landed the spoils in the Supreme Novices Hurdle at 4/1. However, for those of you who followed me would have had the 20/1 (or more) that I put up back in October last year.
I mentioned consistently throughout the season that he was the one to beat and he won with plenty left in the tank. I am very interested to see what discipline he takes on next season, but I really hope he goes down the Novice Chase route. He is a big scopey horse and I think he could do great things over fences.
I labelled him as my NAP for the Festival, despite him being a novice, which is a big call, but hopefully now you can all see why. I’m very excited to see how his career unfolds and believe he is truly destined for greatness.
After a great start, which really did set the mood for the week, we had another big winner on Day 4. Another of the ante post betting tips I put up was Impervious, who won the Mares’ Chase on Friday at 2/1. Again, anyone who followed my ante post advice would have been sitting on a 14/1 ticket for this very talented mare, who is now four from four over fences.
I thought she was a bit special last year when I saw her over Hurdles, but she couldn’t jump a hurdle to save her life, jumping way too big and careful. She has really matured this season and the change to fences has been the making of her.
She won the Mares’ Chase in great style, finishing with a rather deadly turn of foot up the home straight, making little of the dreaded Cheltenham hill. I’d love to see her take on the geldings next season the boys and it will be interesting to see where this new JP McManus recruit goes next.
Those two winning picks were the highlights and had us well ahead for the week, but we had some brilliant placed selections also. Sandor Clegane finished third in the Albert Bartlett at 14/1 and Teahupoo finished a close second in the Stayers’, advised at 9/1.
Also, Chemical Energy looked like he may take advantage of a final fence fall from the leader, but he was collared on the line to finish a very credible second at 9/1 in the National Hunt Chase.
Nothing can be taken away from those performances and all three horses gave us a nice profit if you backed them each way as advised.
I have been posting ante post selections for two years now and both times we have finished with a profitable outcome. Overall, I am very happy again this year. My winning picks for Cheltenham 2023 yielded 25 points, if you bet on the nose, but if you played each way on all of my selections, then your profit would be just shy of 40 points.
Even though the Cheltenham Festival is done and dusted for this year, I’m already looking ahead to the next big race meeting. So don’t forget to check out all of the offers here on betting.co.uk and grab yourself some free bets. Next Stop, Aintree!
