I have some really interesting selections for Tuesday which need more than a second glance and a market check too. I also think I may have found us a plot job, who is running for some very shrewd connections, to end the day at Brighton. But before the final leg, I have three lined up which I think will give us a great run for our money and I’ve combined the four to make an each way Lucky 15 for you.
Free bets are always a good thing for racing fans, they mean you don’t have to play with your own money and used wisely, they can help you to get ahead of the bookies.
The way I like to bet is to spend as little as possible, but to win as much as possible and you can do this by taking advantage of one of my favourite sign up offers. Ladbrokes currently offers new customers the chance to bet £5 and get £20 in free bets. Better still, you’ll see this offer is credited as four £5 free bets, so you could cover all of my Tuesday selections for free.
I’m Mable kicks us off in the opener and she ticks a lot of boxes that make her very appealing. The first thing that needs a mention, is that she is now back to almost the same mark that she has won off twice before at Chelmsford and she contests over same trip here. When she was upped to 6 furlongs, it saw her less effective, but 5½ furlongs seems to be just right for her and on her only visit to Brighton which was back in 2021, she ran a blinder to finish a close up third against better opposition.
She actually drops significantly in Grade this time around and even though she comes into the race at top weight, her latest two efforts were a big step back in the right direction which puts her bang in the mix here. She has had a busy campaign this year, but following those two big efforts she had been given a month off which may just put her spot on to run a huge race. Her latest effort can be marked up, as she was shuffled back early on but made some good headway and sustained her effort to finish just two lengths back. Her double figure price underestimates her ability here and I am all over her.
Freetodream is one of two potential plots going down on Tuesday and I think this one may well improve significantly for his second start this year. He only has five runs to his name so far, the first three coming over 6 furlongs, but he was stepped up to 7 furlongs to finish off his two-year-old campaign, running with great credit with a 50/1 price tag. He did actually receive a little bit of support, which gives him hope here and he looks to have trained on nicely enough based on his return to action at Kempton last time out.
Connections have opted to stay at 7 furlongs and I think he definitely wants this trip, or even a mile in time, as he did his best work late on last time out. He’s in decent enough company here, so he will need to improve further for this, his second start of the season and will probably strip a bit fitter for it also. The favourite in the race is All Dunn, who is definitely the right one, but Freetodream has already received support heading into tomorrow’s race, which could also prove significant.
I initially had this race down to two selections, because I do think that Shalfa will run a big race. However, the one I really do think will take all the beating here is Amathus, who won a valuable race over course and distance in August and returned to form here three weeks ago on his first start of the season. When he won here in August, he was wearing cheekpieces for the first time, which are in place again this time out.
As with one of my earlier selections, I like the fact that he drops down in Grade for his second start of the season, because if he’s in the same form as his last outing here, three weeks ago, then he wouldn’t need to improve much at all to figure here. He has been a bit up and down over the years, but he loves it at Brighton and I think he will go very close.
The last selection for my each way Lucky 15 is Landing Strip, running here for Marcus Tregoning. She makes her Handicap debut here at Brighton today and is one of two runners for connections at the meeting. They have one earlier in the day named Al Azhar, who has a top chance of winning, but they also send this first time Handicapper here, which is a path they have taken with a few newcomers in recent years and have had some decent success in doing so.
On form she is going to have to improve, but on her first run at Lingfield, she did show some nice promise against horses that have gone on to better things since, so it would be no surprise to see this filly take a huge step forward. She will be up against some seasoned Handicappers here, who are decent enough, but with the potential improvement to come from this girl, I’m willing to take a chance on her. She’s also a potential plot job for the Tregoning team so definitely worth a close look.
