Welcome back viewers!

In this extra special episode, I have been joined by my usual wingman Joe McCabe but this time, we are honoured to have a special guest on board too. Tonight, we also welcome the legend that is Johnny Dineen.

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, Johnny is a man very much in demand, so we are very lucky indeed to have him with us today. He’s a member of the Racing Post’s ā€˜Up The Ante’ team, as well as the star of numerous other Cheltenham-related preview events and he’s had us both howling with his awesome sense of humour.

What’s on the cards?

Obviously, we had to narrow down our choices, so we’ve decided to concentrate on Novice Hurdlers in today’s show. We’re going to kick off with The Supreme, then move on to The Ballymore and finish up our discussion with The Albert Bartlett. We hope you enjoy watching just as much as we enjoyed making this video.

Tuesday 13.30: The Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (2 miles)

We’ll get the ball rolling with the Supreme Novices Hurdle, where I have one of my strongest bets of the entire week, on Barry Connell’s Marine Nationale, who comes unbeaten heading into Cheltenham. I thought he was smart in his Bumper, but he really has gone from strength to strength over Hurdles and he’s showing no signs of stopping.

He is a beautifully bred gelding who has shown some freakish speed in his races, needing all of it to win the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse last time out. He is coming to the Cheltenham Festival fresh and is surely the one to beat. I cannot find any negatives about him whatsoever and trainer Barry Connell has labelled him bombproof. The 7/2 on offer for Marine Nationale is tremendous value for a horse that should be outright Favourite in my opinion.

Wednesday 13.30: The Ballymore Novices Hurdle (2 miles 5 furlongs)

I am currently torn between two great horses in the Ballymore. I really like Good Land, who is also trained by Barry Connell, but I also feel that Impair Et Passe could turn into a bit of a weapon.

Willie Mullins has stated that he has enough speed to go for the Supreme, but the fact that Willie has decided to send him here instead tells you that he must have bags of stamina too. The vibes have been strong from the yard and whatever happens, there is potential for a new star to emerge during this race.

Friday 14.50: TheĀ Albert BartlettĀ Novices’ Hurdle Race (3 miles)

Last, but by no means least, we’ll take a look at the Albert Bartlett. Ante post betting for this race has seen about six different Favourites since Christmas. Not surprising really, as there are plenty of hopeful-looking contenders.

However, only one horse can win this race and my money is on Absolute Notions. I first advised him at a massive price of 40/1 and he is now as short as 7/1 with most firms. I’m convinced that Absolute Notions can run a big race on Friday.
