This Friday there is a fantastic punting card at Worcester and I’m actually toying with the idea of turning up there myself! So if you're going too, I may see you there!
I have three big bets lined up for tomorrow, which I’ve already backed and that includes my 4/1 NAP selection first up. As you know I like to end the week strong and with it being Irish Guineas weekend, we want to take some momentum into Saturday and Sunday’s action at The Curragh!
Tomorrow, I will drop you a full preview for the Irish 2000 Guineas and 1000 Guineas. I'm almost certainly going to be playing some juicy cross doubles alongside - so watch this space!
Nothing better than some Friday free bets, so here is my best deal for you. It's a Bet £10, Get £30 in Free Bets offer provided by the top horse racing bookie Bet365. I’d be right on it myself if I didn’t already have an account!
This season, the Bowen team are in great form and conditions finally fall back in favour of Courtland, one of their three runners at Worcester on Friday. I really fancy his chances and if you take a look at his best form, which is two wins over a slightly shorter trip, he should surely have a great chance based on that.
He clearly acts a lot better on a quicker surface, which he hasn’t had the benefit of since his run at Newbury back in November, where he was running a blinder before unfortunately unseating jockey James Bowen at a crucial time in the race.
Prior to that though, he ran at Newton Abbot and that’s the piece of form that interests me most. Not only did he win in great style, he was running off a mark of 13lb higher than he will be carrying tomorrow. A return to that sort of form would make him a serious contender here.
His last two runs can easily be forgiven, coming on very soft ground, but back on this faster surface, off a much lower mark surely puts him bang in the mix here. With a clear round of jumping, I think he will be hard to stop and definitely worth getting stuck into.
Now, you don’t need to be a racing genius to work this one out for yourself. With Ben Pauling’s runner Platenium out of the equation, Genovese is the only runner in this race with any sort of form to his name. In fact, the only runner with any race experience at all is Jitterbug Geordie, but he only managed a ninth at Wincanton on his debut.
But what has really attracted me to Genovese is his 2/1 price tag, which just seems bonkers to me against newcomers in a small field. His trainer, Martin Keighley, has targeted this meeting on more than one occasion in the past and he has a few in with decent chances on Friday, so I imagine Genovese has been primed for this race.
He has had three runs to date, winning nicely on debut at Worcester and backing that up with two improved efforts in defeat, the last of which was behind Guard Duty, a really good horse from the Emma Lavelle stable and he managed to get within five lengths of that one. This is the first run of the season for Genovese, but I really feel that he is worth a punt.
Blue Sans has a great chance in this race, even if only for an each way shout. Even though she comes into this race off top weight, she has shown more than enough ability so far. Her last run was in a Point-to-Point, where she came second to a horse that is now a three-time winner. That form is likely to stand her in very good stead for this race.
She has been a fairly consistent sort and she must have an obvious chance in this company. Last August she won when carrying 12lb higher than she will tomorrow and this is also a drop in Grade. Not only that, she also gets a further 7lb taken off her back this time with the astute booking of Claimer Tom Broughton, which can surely only benefit her here.
She won’t get too many better opportunities to get back to winning ways than this one that’s for sure and punters who realise just how good her Point-to-Point place was will be all over her. I’m certain her price will shorten dramatically soon and I personally think she’s on for the win, but she is 100% a huge each way shout regardless.
There you go. Three of my best bets for Friday for you to take a look at, and I’m pretty sweet on all of them. If you already have a Bet365 account, but fancy bagging some free bets elsewhere, then look no further. We have over £200 worth right here for you to explore!
