The late kick off on Saturday is a huge game as Tottenham play hosts to Liverpool in a game where both teams put their unbeaten records to the test. Both teams find themselves in the Top four currently and even though it is early in the season, the points from this fixture are likely to prove vital for both teams as the season goes on. Tottenham have opened up as your 19/10 underdogs, whilst the away team Liverpool are your current 6/5 favourites to take all 3 points from their visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. So far this season both teams have improved in the six games so far and and even though I think Liverpool are the right favourites, Tottenham look a much improved outfit this season and the gap between them in the market is perhaps a little too much on this occasion. I will get on to my best bets for the match in a moment, but first of all, let’s take a look at the two teams.
Tottenham and Liverpool both remain unbeaten after their first six games of the season and there is very little to choose between them on paper. Tottenham have won four of their six, and drawn the other two, whilst Liverpool have won five of their opening six and have drawn just the one game, so they have a 2 point advantage in the table at this stage. Liverpool drew their opening game of the season when they were away at Chelsea, but have really excelled since then and have started to play some seriously good football having scored 14 goals in their five premier league matches since the opener. Tottenham have similarly been playing some really good football and battled well to take a point from Arsenal last weekend and will feel full of confidence heading into this weekend's clash.
In the last 10 meetings between these two in the league Liverpool have won 8 and they have drawn the other 2 so it doesn't look good in that sense for Tottenham fans, but they do look a different squad this year and are seemingly creating more chances too. Liverpool are firing in the goals but they have only had two clean sheets so far this season and Tottenham will be looking to capitalise.
Despite Liverpool having such a strong record against Tottenham they are always tight affairs and I think now more than ever, Tottenham will be able to cause Liverpool some real problems this week and the 19/10 about them beating Liverpool is rather tempting. Tottenham still have Perisic and Bentancur out due to Knee Injuries, but the squad they used for last week’s game away at Arsenal are all available and look ready to give Liverpool a really tough time this week. They are playing some really good quick moving football which is something we haven’t seen from Tottenham too often in recent years and this has opened up plenty of options for them up front. Liverpool are scoring plenty, but do look slightly vulnerable at the back and I think Tottenham are going to take advantage of that and score a few goals this week. I think if they score the opener then they could be really tough to peg back and Liverpool have been letting in goals before scoring themselves this season, so perhaps Tottenham can finally get their league win over Liverpool. The 19/10 is plenty of value on the outright win market but I could also see a score of 2-1 to Tottenham unfolding and think the 10/1 is a very fair price to get involved with.
Summary of my Tottenham vs Liverpool Betting TipsBest Bet: Tottenham win at 19/10
