Chalk will be heard more in horse racing and is an American term for the favourite - meaning the bookmaker thinks this selection has the best chance of winning.

The term chalk is not used a lot in UK sports betting, but you will hear it a lot with American sports. Chalk is referred to as the favourite of a match or tournament. Used predominantly in US sports, but a lot of punters worldwide will understand what it means.
