    In betting terms, the favourite is the team or player the bookmaker thinks will win.

    If you have a Premier League match between Manchester City and Manchester United and the bookmakers feel City will win the game, then they will be the favourites and will have the lowest odds.

    There will always be favourites in sports betting, this could be with outright betting like the winner of the Champions League or the World Darts Championship.

    There will always be a team or player with shorter odds than anyone else and they are classed as the favourites.
