This format is wagers placed on events that will be settled later on in the season.

Popular futures bets are normally who will win a championship or individual player of the season awards.

This can relate to most sports. You can back the winner of the Premiership or Champions League in football before the season starts, or you can bet on the Super League Grand Final winners in rugby league and the Ashes series in cricket.
