OpTic Gaming

OpTic Gaming joined the Apex Legends pro scene on the 28th of April this year and started speedrunning their way to the top. They made their mark at the ALGS: 2022 Split 2 Playoffs, where they finished 2nd in the Group Stage and 1st in the Winner’s Bracket.

It’s hard to say that OpTic Gaming is above all the other NA teams though, especially when Team Liquid, TSM, and NRG are around. Most of the time it appears they’re all just equal, with luck probably influencing the difference in results. However, while all of these teams have countlessly delivered with the way they perform, we reckon OpTic Gaming has shown the most consistency in the shortest amount of time.

OpTic Gaming’s players include William “SkittleCakes” August, Logan “Knoqd” Layou, and Ira “dooplex” Shepherd (Captain), with SkittleCakes and dooplex playing together since the beginning of their careers. Before OpTic, they won a lot of A-Tier and B-Tier events, which proves how much they’ve developed their chemistry. Then Knoqd came from Cloud9, and things took off even more from there.

Now, the team is working their magic on the world stage, securing 3rd place in the Group Stage. The more they win, the more it seems that luck isn’t the force separating them from the rest of the pack. This raises expectation levels to normal, and it’s almost guaranteed that the team won’t let small fries in the Loser’s Bracket steal their ticket to glory. The Loser’s Bracket Round 2 will commence after the Winner's Bracket has been settled. Will they get their second chance as everyone believes or will they stumble the second time?

Apex Tournaments 2022: ALGS Conclusion
