The biggest game of the weekend has to be the London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham in a tie which is never short of drama! Both teams find themselves in the top 4 after just five games and this is going to be a huge 3 points for whichever side is able to come out on top. The bookies have opened up the market with Arsenal as your 7/10 favourites and Tottenham are quite big at a tempting price of 7/2.
We have seen some really scrappy fixtures between these two with there being pride to play for as well as the points, but both teams are playing some really good football already this season and are only going to continue to grow as the campaign goes on. We have a great game in store here. I have an idea of how I think this game will finish but before we get onto that, let’s take a dive into the form of both teams.
Arsenal and Tottenham have both won four and drawn one of their opening five games and a win here will be huge for the momentum of these two teams at this important stage of the season. The Gunners have started well and look like they are actually moving the ball better and better for each game they have played so far and they look like a real force again this season.
Tottenham have similarly started very well and since drawing away at Brentford on match day 1, they have gone on to win their next four games since, and have been playing with some real flair which makes this match up very interesting. especially as they don't have to juggle European obligations. With both sides being in very solid form so we could be set for a real mouthwatering clash this week.

If we take a look at the last 5 meetings between the two teams, Arsenal lead 3 wins to 2, Arteta's side also won both the home and away clashes between the pair last season so they are the rightful favourites. Tottenham haven’t won away at Arsenal since 2018 so in that respect they have it all to do, but this is a new season with a new coach in the shape of Ange Postecoglou.
Arsenal will be without Martinelli who is still out due to a muscle injury and joins Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber on the sidelines, but the squad is still looking very strong and will be feeling confident of taking the 3 points at home.
Tottenham have a few absentees themselves including Ivan Perisic, but they are playing better than they have done in a long while. At 7/2 they are more tempting now than what they would have been in recent seasons, but I still find it hard to be confident enough about them getting the win over an Arsenal team that are really starting to find their groove.
I’m sure both teams are going to have plenty of chances and I also think it’s very likely that both teams will score, however ultimately I think Arsenal will prove to be too good at home and they will take all of the beating. 7/10 is probably a little bit tight on value considering both teams are thriving so I think I’d take a chance on an Arsenal win and both teams to score, plus a single on a 3-1 win to Arsenal in search of better odds.
The one worry with this game from a betting perspective is I wouldn’t want both teams to tighten up and cancel each other out, but the fact that they are both high in confidence right now, has me thinking there will be plenty of goals in this game.
Best Bet: Arsenal win and BTTS @ 15/8
Correct Score: 3-1 win Arsenal @ 11/1
