Our Premier League Banker of the Week looks at a short priced betting option from the upcoming fixtures that has an excellent chance of landing a win.
Our Banker of the Week for this week is…Chelsea (-1) to beat Watford 1/2
It is fair to say that Watford have downed tools in recent weeks. Last Sunday’s 1-5 home defeat to Leicester City was a dire display, which means they have now taken just one point from their last eight games. With relegation long confirmed, you can expect another limp display from the Hornets in their final Premier League game.
Chelsea have been in mediocre form recently but there are signs of improvement. Last week’s Cup Final defeat to Liverpool was arguably their best display since losing to Real Madrid in the Champions League. Whilst the 3-0 win at Leeds United in their previous Premier League game showed that they know how to dispatch struggling sides.
When the sides met earlier in the season, Chelsea emerged as 2-1 victors. A result that means Watford have won just one of the two sides' previous 19 encounters.
Despite having little to play for, the Blues will be desperate to finish the campaign on a high note in front of the Stamford Bridge crowd, and that could spell bad news for a despondent Watford side.
Whilst a home win is best priced at a very short 1/6 on, you can add a bit of extra value to your bet by giving the Blues a one goal handicap. William Hill are currently offering 1/2 on a Chelsea win by more than one goal.
