Tomorrowās racing action (and the weather) is going to be red-hot at Ascot as we move onto Day 4. The first question my fellow racing fans will be asking, is whether Tahiyra can win the Coronation Stakes.
The Coronation Stakes is the highlight race of Day 4, maybe the highlight of the entire meeting where the fillies are concerned and tomorrow we shall see Irish 1000 Guineas winner Tahiyra try to prove she is the queen. Her main market rival is Meditate, who runs for Cooolmore and she is one tough cookie too. Although Tahiyra is not one of my selections, I cannot wait to see how this one pans out!
Anyway, on to my winning picks for Day 4. Tomorrow brings us another really good card and Iām chasing some value in the bigger fields, so I have decided to go the Lucky 15 route once again. Hopefully we can finish the week off on a good note, ready to head in for some weekend action.
For Fridayās racing, I have an offer for you provided by Kwiff and itās an interesting one for sure. If you bet Ā£10 you will get a Ā£20 āSurpriseā bet in return. Why not take advantage and see what you get?
In this yearās Albany there are some smart looking fillies, but the one I like the most is Navassa Island. She was purchased for Ā£240,000 and is a half-sister to Lezoo, so there is plenty of class in her family. Jabaara and Soprano pose the main dangers in this race, but I think Navassa Island is better than both of them and has the potential to be very good indeed..
She was literally chucked in at the deep end when she finished runner up in a Group 3 on her debut. She certainly didnāt get the run of the race that day, but she showed an immense turn of foot when asked the question and she was actually really unlucky not to get up and win the race. The ground will be no issue and she is open to plenty of improvement based on that run.
The Duke of Edinburgh Stakes is another Handicap where there are plenty in with chances, but the one I like here is Aimeric. He was a different horse when he won last time out at Doncaster, having clearly benefitted from being gelded and also undergoing a wind operation.
He has won three of his last four races on fast ground, he is carrying a low weight and James Doyle has been booked for the ride. This will also be his second start since his operations, so thereās plenty in his favour here.
Although Aimeric will have to be at his very best to win, he is a clear and present danger in a very open race, where everything is in his favour, so I think that 10/1 is big price for so much potential and one that is too good to resist.
I quite fancy Coppice in the Sandringham. Despite having flopped in the Nell Gwyn, she had two very good AW wins either side of that race and to me she looks the classiest in the field. She will need to prove that she is as effective on Turf, but I donāt see any reason to suggest she wonāt handle it.
Sheās a decent filly this one - really well bred, a strong traveller and has shown some serious gears so far. She has also been given a pretty decent Handicap mark and even in a race as competitive as this, I think she is the one to beat.
The final race of the day is a five-furlong sprint and for this one, I canāt get away from the George Boughey gelding Conquistador. He is getting so much weight from the field here and is clearly better than his mark on paper. Running in a big-field Handicap will be a new experience for him, but otherwise, I feel he is the one to beat.
Another plus, is the fact that he has had the better of a handful of runners in this field already and he is weighted to beat them by even further this time out. With the big field being my only slight concern, I think heās well-worth a go at his price.
Thank you for tuning in to my Day 4 selections and before you go, donāt forget to scroll through the great bookie offers available right here at Betting.co.uk.
