Hello Racing fans and welcome back to a new day of selections for Thursday's racing! We had a really good day yesterday with a few winners and I have some really nice selections that can continue our winning form. Thank you for all of your support so far, and don't forget to check out my socials @gingerjoeracing on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube & Facebook!
TANGLEWOOD TALES is one that could offer some really good value in this open contest. He ran his best race to date last time and sneaks in here off a real low weight! He is a real unexposed type and was only beaten by one horse last time and one that is significantly on the up. TANGLEWOOD TALES really appreciated the step up to the middle distance and I think this could be what brings out the best of him and as an unexposed 3y-o you have to assume there is more to come especially after such an encouraging run last time out.
Andrew Balding and David Probert are in fine form at the moment and this one could have more to offer this time round after trying the middle distance for the first time. I think he is worth taking a chance on because the form on offer in this race isn't anything special. He could just go under the radar a little bit and if he runs well here he is likely to start taking quite a hike in the weights so he's potentially one to catch whilst off such a low mark. Some decent credentials to assume he will be even better this time and 12/1 is a valuable each way price in this contest.
CRAZY LUCK did really really well to get up and win last time after being hampered twice in the running and also whilst being caught short for room. When he eventually found a gap he was really strong through the line and potentially won a shade cosily. Champ Oisin Murphy rides him and he has got on well with him before and I really like the combination of Oisin and trainer Rod Millman, they have a fantastic strike rate together. I was really taken by his latest performance and believe there is probably still more to come, he has got better each run this season and there is no reason why his progression won't continue here.
A real honest type with a great attitude for racing, comes here really well treated and likely to be ahead of the handicapper at this stage. Been very eye-catching to date and could even go on to bigger and better things after this so I think the 4/1 on offer is way too big when I think he is simply the best horse in the race. Great addition to a lucky 15.
FREAK OUT has been a really solid horse that just keeps progressing. Comprehensively beat the rapidly progressive and now stablemate Air To Air and we know how good he is becoming. FREAK OUT is now 13lb higher than then but deservedly so. He has been progressing each time he gets to the racetrack and is one of my favourite horses from the Boughey yard.
I think he is still at this point the best of his opposition who have nice profiles but in my eye have under performed on what has been expected from them. They are all going to have to improve if any of them want to beat FREAK OUT and ok they may, however they have been given a few opportunities to do so and our selection is certainly no slouch. He will be hard to be and much more reliable than others declared for the race.
ALBERT CAMUS is one I'm really excited about and he has won twice this year already, once over 1m2mf and the other over 1m4f. Has looked like an awkward ride but really starting to get the hang of things now. His best run to date was his most recent one where he finished fourth on good to firm ground and could still be really well treated here off an unchanged mark. Likely we are going to see an even better performance this time with the headgear coming off and will be hard to stop.
I think Chase the Dollar and Joe Fanning will try and steal the race from the front but believe ALBERT CAMUS will just wear them down come the line and finish the winner. 4/1 is great value in what looks like a tactical affair and I feel he is the best horse in the race. Havlin takes the ride and has won on him before and looks a perfect fit in this contest. I think he will be patiently ridden and pick them off one by one at the finishing line and will do for me as my Nap selection.
