For Wednesday’s racing, I've got just one betting tip for you coming from the Ffos Las evening meeting and I’m confident that this one will be a winner. This horse has shown impressive improvement recently, and it's noteworthy that trainer Robert Cowell is willing to send him on a 520-mile round trip as his sole runner at the meeting.
Looking ahead to the remainder of the week, we have the Newmarket July Festival to look forward to, which runs from Thursday through Saturday and I will have plenty of selections for each day of the meeting. Short and sweet today, with just the one notable Wednesday runner, but let’s take advantage of this potential banker.
If you want to make the most of Wednesday’s hottest betting tip, then why not take a look at this free bet offer, which comes courtesy of BetMGM. If you bet £10, you’ll get £40 in free bets. With a big UK Flat meeting upcoming, why not make the most of it.
My only betting tip for Wednesday comes in the opening race at the Ffos Las evening meeting, where we have a red-hot five-furlong Handicap for the three-year-old Sprinters. Kingwood Queen broke her maiden last time out and the 4lb rise shouldn’t bother her too much, but I don’t feel her form is quite strong enough for her to win this. Johnny Johnson is another interesting candidate, especially so with Oisin Murphy in the saddle. However, he is still a maiden after 10 starts and has been slowly away from the stalls on his latest efforts - something he can’t afford to do here, especially as he drops back in trip this time around.
For me, there’s no getting away from Fidelius, who represents the only runner for Robert Cowell at Ffos Las, and is seemingly on a steep upward curve. He won decisively at Chelmsford on the all-weather three starts back, then ran well to finish fourth at Windsor on firm ground, which was another step forward for this gelding. However, his most impressive run to date was last time out, where he positively bolted up at Wolverhampton, quickening impressively from the front to win going away.
Fidelius evidently has tons of speed and trainer Robert Cowell is masterful with his Sprinters. It’s only fair for me to say that he needs to prove he can back that last win up whilst switching to turf under a penalty, but with the way this race will be run, I expect him to be seriously hard to beat. He is a straightforward type, who is continuing to improve and there is an awful lot to like here. Fidelius should prove very hard to beat, despite giving weight away to the field, and I think he will take a serious amount of stopping.
