For Wednesday's racing, I have a red hot betting tip for you to get stuck into. This is a horse that has shown plenty of ability over course and distance in previous seasons, and showed signs of his old self last time out at Windsor, so a return to peak form could be imminent. He is coming up against a rival that beat him last time out, but he is weighted to get closer this time and has won off a higher mark previously too.
It’s a tricky day of racing, but hopefully, the selection I have for you can run well and comes with a value price tag too. I may have some selections coming for Thursday, but if not, Friday will be the next big day, and I have already nailed down some Lucky 15 picks. There’s more good stuff to come at the weekend too, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It would be nice to bag a few winners first.
Betfred are the sponsors of Wednesday evening’s highlight Handicap, and they also have a useful offer available for new sign ups. Bet £10, and you’ll get £30 in free bets. No account with Betfred yet? Then this one’s for you!
There are just six runners in this year’s renewal of the Nifty Fifty Handicap and Mr Wagyu is the current favourite. He clearly sets the standard here on paper, but I’m not altogether convinced this small field will suit his running style. George Baker’s Get It also ran a nice race last time out to win at Windsor, and he could still be on the up, although I think the 4lb rise in weights may just catch him out here.
Which brings me to Indian Creek who finished fourth last time out behind Get It, but that was a big step back in the right direction and at his weight I can easily see him reversing that form and more besides. His best efforts come on a fast surface and for the majority of this season, he has been faced with softer conditions that were clearly not to his liking. It’s also quite significant that David Probert takes the ride. Indian Creek holds very strong claims based on his best form, and I have more than a sneaking suspicion that he’s going to pull out all of the stops here.
