I’ve got two hot betting tips for you for Friday, coming from Fontwell and Musselburgh. The first is in a four-runner race, but it’s a competitive one, and my second selection is a gelding on a roll who is in search of his fourth win. The ground and trip is fine for both, so barring incidents and accidents, they should both give us a really good run for our money.
There is some nice competitive action to look forward to at the weekend, and then we have the Aintree Grand National meeting coming up in just a week’s time, which I’ll be covering in plenty of detail, so be sure to keep checking back in.

The Novice Hurdle may only be a four runner race but three of them are definitely interesting sorts. Record High won his only Bumper in pretty good fashion and the form of that race has worked out fairly well. He was far from disgraced on his Hurdles debut, but perhaps let himself down last time out after a break. That being said he may well have needed the run and he could resume his progress again here.
Johnny Jump Up is the odds-on favourite for Gary Moore, and he has a progressive profile after just two starts, but he is completely unexposed in this division. He won well at Fontwell on his Hurdles debut before finishing a clear second to Jetronic from the Paul Nicholls team and is likely to go well once again. The main concern I have with him is that he is moving up in trip quite quickly, and it’s not guaranteed to suit him.
But the one for me is
Livin On Luco
for Phillip Hobbs and this extra couple of furlongs looks like just what he needs. I think my selection and Johnny Jump Up will both travel well enough, but
the stamina that Livin On Lucco has should prove too much here
and I will side with him to take the win.
This three-miler is a very interesting race and I have this down to two potential winners. The first of those is Not Staying Long, for Mike Smith who is a nice improver and won well on her penultimate start over the three mile trip. She didn’t appreciate the drop back in trip last time out, so a return to this distance must put her in the picture.
The one I am going with though, is Champ Royal, for Sundan Corbett who is now on for a four-timer. He is up 6lbs for his last win, but he won very impressively and seems to be in great health at the minute. This is a deeper race than his last one, but he ticks all the boxes and he’s sure to get very competitive here. Better still, he might even be priced to back each way.
15:45 Fontwell - Livin On Luco
18:10 Musselburgh - Champ Royal
