My betting tip for Brighton

I’m back bringing you just the one selection for Wednesday’s action as there is no Jumps racing until Thursday this week, but I do think I’ve picked us a winner here.

17:00 Brighton - 1m Classified Stakes - Voodoo Ray @ 11/10

My selection for today comes in the Classified Stakes where there is a rather average-looking field. De Vegas Kid is the main danger here, being a five-time course and distance winner, but he has not been at his best so far this year.

Endless Season is the other runner who might cause my selection a few problems in running. He is still a maiden after 14 runs, so he has plenty to prove, but his best runs have come since the addition of cheekpieces, which he will wear again here. Also, the last time Pat Dobbs was on board he got a real good tune out him, but he obviously comes with a few risks attached based on previous form.

So I think the one to side with in this race is Voodoo Bay, who is the only runner at Brighton for the Gary Moore team. He had a good win on his penultimate start and backed it up under a penalty when finishing a really good third behind an in-form improver at this course.

His last five starts have all been here at Brighton and his last two have shown a lot of improvement, so it looks like he could be really hard to beat off level weights here and the step up in trip to a mile may just be the making of him. I think he holds major claims here.
