Hello again racing fans and welcome back to Betting.co.uk. I’m off to Ireland for Friday’s winning picks and I’ve taken a close look at two Handicap Hurdles taking place at the Killarney meeting. I think that both of the two mares I’ve selected have a really good chance of getting into the winner’s enclosure.
I’m really enjoying the fact that the Jumps season is slowly but surely getting closer and at the end of this month we have the Galway Festival to look forward to. As most of you will know already, National Hunt racing is where my true passion lies and so I’ll be concentrating mainly on the Jumps going forward. That said, I will continue to bring you some Flat selections for the big weekend races, starting with the Super Sprint at Newbury this Saturday.
Before we go onto the selections, here is an offer from Ladbrokes for you take a look over. If you
bet £5, you will get £30 in free bets, which is plenty to cover your needs for Friday and beyond.
My first pick for Friday comes in the Mares’ Hurdle and I’ve spotted a couple of nice contenders amongst the runners. Brianna Lily is top weight here and rightly so. She has posted some pretty decent numbers without winning, but the form she has is just about the best on offer and she’s sure to go well here.
However, the one I think takes the beating is Jumping Susie. If she has come on at all from her seasonal reappearance, she will improve past all of these. Although her form figures don’t read all that well, if you take a closer look at her form from last year, there is definitely some substance to it.
She has definitely been given the chance to mature too, having been off the track nearly a year before her run at Bellewstown last time out, which was a personal best for her. I also think John McConnell is in for a big season, so I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see her break her maiden here.
Looking at this race, I can see that Prince Zaltar has some very good form in the book and he ran a great race behind Lunar Power at Ballinrobe, which was a very competitive Handicap, so he’s likely to be thereabouts once again. But I much prefer Miss Tempo, who runs for Henry De Bromhead.
That one really impressed me last time out when she won at Tipperary and she really seems to have improved in her last two outings. She travelled like the best horse for her latest win and looks to be on a good mark still. I think she could well continue to progress and see no reason why she won’t go very close here.
She has already won over 2½ and 3 miles, and winning at both trips gives me the indication there’s a good engine inside this filly. There’s nothing necessarily flashy about her chances, but she’s a very likeable type who has upped her game with each run. She jumps well, travels well and is evidently right in form, so I think she has to be the one to side with here.
If you are already signed up with Ladbrokes, feel free to check out our other offers here on the site. We have all sorts of deals available here, so you’re certain to find one that appeals.
Thanks for reading my article. Hopefully we have a couple of winners at Killarney to take us into the weekend. Speaking of which, don’t forget to look out for my runner by runner guide to Saturday’s big race at Newbury.
