With the first Major of the year over, I think it’s fair to say we were delivered an absolute treat from start to finish. Augusta National proved as difficult as ever and from a field of 89 players, only eight of them managed to finish under par. However, only one man managed to make it to double digits and that was world number 1, Scottie Scheffler, who finished on a score of 11 under par.
He put on a brilliant display of golf from tee to green and didn’t do much wrong all week. Even if he missed a green, he was getting up and making the putts and was relentless all week. He fully deserved his Green Jacket and is clearly the best player in the world right now. The golf season continues this week with the RBC Heritage and there is a fantastic line up for it too. It will be interesting to see if Scottie Scheffler decides to play here this week after his Masters win but either way, we have a cracking event again this week and I have two betting tips ready and waiting for you.
For this week’s golf I have a fantastic offer for you, courtesy of Bet 365.
Simply bet £10, and you’ll get £30 in free bets. If you plan on having a bet this week, then this is a great deal.
The PGA Tour heads to Harbour Lakes for the RBC Heritage this week and I really like the setup here. It’s a coastline-styled links course and it really takes some getting used to. Players need good course management to win around this 7213 yard Par 71 track, and tee to green play is extremely important. You need players that can hit the ball high or low because it takes a wide variation of shots to win at Harbour Lakes.
However, you also need a player with a solid short game too, as the greens here can get very tricky, especially with the high winds expected next week. All in all, this is going to be a fascinating watch just a week after the Masters. Harbour Lakes couldn’t be any more different than Augusta and it will be a real test of skill this week. And on that note, I have two solid players to go in with and I think both of them will give us a really good run for our money.
Will Zalatoris is a player that I have been quite critical of since his return from injury, but I must say, he has really impressed me in the last few weeks and I think he has a good chance in the RBC Heritage. I thought it would take him much longer to find his form, especially his tempo and short game, but he seems more than comfortable back on a golf course and Harbour Lakes should suit his game very well indeed.
He is plenty long off the tee and his iron play has been particularly impressive. He comes into this after finishing in a tie for ninth place at The Masters, where he was striking the ball exceptionally well, and he will find this track much easier.
I think Will Zalatoris is ready for his first win since his return to action and 28/1 is a decent price
considering his chance here.
My each way selection for this week is Keegan Bradley, who is definitely overpriced at 80/1. Augusta was never going to suit him, but he actually played really well last week and he has a massively underestimated iron game. This type of course, where your approach play needs to be absolutely on-point, is exactly the sort of course Keegan Bradley plays well at. He has a high ball flight like Zalatoris and I would be shocked if he didn’t outplay his odds this week, especially with six career wins to his name. As one of the top 20 players in the world, Keegan is a class act, and I think he has to be worth a punt this week.
