My point of focus for Saturday is the Jumps meeting at Gowran Park and there is a really good day of competitive racing action on this card. I have decided to look at the middle distance races here and I have three betting tips for you - starting with an interesting 2m 4f Maiden Hurdle - and followed by two very interesting Chases over the same distance.
With a step up in trip, one of Barry Connellās novices looks ready to break through in the Hurdle race and he has no excuses here. My second pick comes in the highlight race of the day, which is the Grade 2 PWC Champion Chase and this is a race well worth tuning in for. A decent lineup of good horses where my selection should prove too strong for his rivals.
My final selection comes in the Handicap Chase, and I have found an improver who runs off a very handy mark in this one. Overall, I am expecting a decent day from these three, and hopefully we can bag ourselves some weekend profit.
This new customer offer from BetMGM really is worth a close look. If you
bet Ā£10, and youāll get Ā£40 in free bets. What a great opportunity for this weekend and beyond!
My first betting tip for Gowran Park is one of several nice sorts in the lineup. Paul Nolan has an intriguing runner with Coumeenoole, who won his only Point-to-Point race, and could be open to plenty over Hurdles. The horse he beat that day was Millforce, who has since joined the Henry De Bromhead team and won on debut in good style, so the form stacks up, and he is worth a watch in the betting.
But the one Iām going with is Apples Of Bresil who has been quite unfortunate in his last two starts over Hurdles. He ran both of his races at Galway, where he coincidentally made an error at the second last on both occasions, consequently costing him two races. I firmly believe that the Gowran Park course will suit him better, as it is much more of a galloping track, and this looks like a great opportunity to put his two last efforts behind him. No excuses this time though.
Next up we have the Grade 2 PWC Champion Chase, and there is a really good field lining up here. Espanito Bello is a very lightly-raced 10-year-old, who could easily pull out all of the stops here. Meanwhile, Saint Sam has been frustrating to follow, but itās easy to forget he is only seven years old, and he has come good on his last two starts. Saint Roi is also a great horse on his day, and he comes into this off the back of a recent win, so he has a decent shout too.
But even if they all turn up in form, they will have a big job on their hands to beat
Conflated. He is a proven Graded performer, and represents the best form on offer in this field.
If he is ready to roll on his first start of the season, then he will take a fair bit of stopping, and Iām inclined to take a chance that he is ready to go first time out. He definitely gets my vote here.
My final selection of the day runs in a Handicap Chase that looks all set to bring plenty of entertainment. Charlie Luciano is sure to prove popular with the punters. He is a consistent sort, but I still feel that he could have done better, especially on his last two starts. Midnight Our Fred is also very interesting, especially so with Danny Mullins back in the saddle. He is a very straightforward sort and if he turns up in peak form, then he will get competitive.
I am siding with Paul Nolanās Jasmin De Cotte here though. He has plenty of ability, and looks to be nicely treated by the handicapper to me. He is a lightly raced five-year-old, who won well on his penultimate start and that form puts him right in the mix here. Iām not totally sure what went wrong for him on his last start, but he has been given a decent break since then, and coming here fresh should see him return to form. I really like this sort with the future in mind and I am expecting a big run from this gelding.
