Welcome back for a new week of racing fun. I have two betting tips for you for Tuesday and both of these horses on the Southwell card stood out to me, so Iām hoping theyāll give us a profitable start to the week.
We had a solid week of racing last week and there is loads more to come. The Dante meeting takes place at York from Wednesday through Friday, and then at the weekend, we have Group action coming from Newbury. Thereās plenty to get through, and I will be covering all of the big races, so keep your eyes peeled for all of my tips this week.

My first betting tip comes in the 3 mile Handicap Chase and we have a very open contest here. Rostello is a horse I really like, especially now heās back up to this longer trip, and he ticks a lot of the right boxes in this field. He does like to be up front, which might not be ideal here, but I imagine he won't be too far away at the finish nonetheless. Almazar Garde holds solid claims here for Charlie Longsdon and he has no stamina issues that's for sure. Generally, he is a really solid performer and the drop back a couple of furlongs will do his chances no harm at all. I imagine he will be ridden more prominently this time and weāll likely see him to better effect.
But the one Iām going for here is Jeteye for the Sam England team. He stepped up significantly last time out, going up from 2m 3f to 3 miles over Hurdles and judging from that performance, it looks like the plan to send him Chasing was there all along. He is a son of Jet Away, so Iām sure heāll have no issues, and he is pretty well-handicapped off his mark of 97. He has form on good ground, finishing second to Urban Soldier last time out, and he looked like he was open to plenty, so I will take a chance on him on his Chase debut.
We have another decent race here, plenty competitive - but with a few in the lineup that have questions to answer. Classic Anthem clearly sets the best standard in this field, but he wonāt find this race easy off top weight. Clear The Runway would have a really good chance on best form, but we havenāt seen much from him for over a year now, so I wouldnāt consider him myself. Grivetana never really fired for Paul Nicholls, but has recently switched yards to Harry Derham. He doesnāt have the best form, but he had a pretty decent second at Newbury in a Grade 3 a couple of seasons back. Considering how well Harry Derham has started his career as a trainer, a revival of form wouldnāt be out of the question, so keep an eye on Grivetana in the market.
However, I think that Hiconic is the one to side with here. She is a lightly raced seven-year-old, running off a mark of just 108, who enjoyed a progressive campaign last season, starting off with two wins on good ground. Looking at her form, she seems to run her best races when fresh and being so leniently handicapped, whilst also open to improvement, makes her the obvious candidate for this race.
