We’re off to Warwick for Thursday’s Jumps racing and we have a nice card to get stuck into. There are a couple of Mares’ races on the card and I have a selection for both the Mares’ Handicap Hurdle, and the Mares Handicap Chase. Both of these look like they are going under the radar to me.
My NAP pick of the day contests in the Handicap Hurdle and I am hoping for a big run out of this mare. Then I have a very likeable mare lined up who steps up in trip, but looks all set to put on a big performance.
I’m hopeful that both can bring us some profit before we head into a long weekend of top quality racing. We have Haydock, Ascot and Punchestown coming up and I will have you covered with my best betting tips. Make sure you check in tomorrow too, to see what I have lined up for Friday.
With a hot Jumps meeting at Warwick on Thursday, why not try this huge deal from BetMGM.
Bet £10, and you’ll get £60 in free bets. Great timing with a huge racing weekend ahead.
We have an interesting Mares’ Handicap Hurdle over 2m 5f to look at first. Little Miss Dante is sure to prove popular here. She will need to improve on her seasonal debut, where she finished third at Bangor-On-Dee, but with that run under her belt, she is open to more. She is quite a short price to get the job done though, and I think she may find one or two too good. The Lord Maid has her first start of the season, and she was progressing nicely last term. If she picks up from where she left off, she won’t be far away.
I am going to side with
Georgi Girl. She is a mare with a lot of ability which she showed in the early stages of last season. On her final two starts she was chucked in at the deep end, and found the step up Graded racing a little too much too soon.
Dropping back in class will certainly help her chances, and I would like to think that she can get competitive in this field. This will be her first attempt over this distance, but she is bred to handle the longer trips and should enjoy the conditions. I think she ticks a lot of boxes on her seasonal debut.
On to the Mares’ Handicap Chase next, and this looks to be another very competitive race with plenty in the field you could make a case for. Dan Skelton’s Lady Jago is one of them. but despite having plenty of ability, she has always looked a little awkward in her races to me. She is sure to go close, but as a very short-priced favourite I want to take her on. Regal Renaissance is another with a decent chance, but she would need to have improved since her last run to get her nose in front here.
However, I believe the one to side with is Tom Gretton’s Fancy Stuff, who steps back up to a more favourable distance here. She is a strong traveller and a good jumper, which always helps, and she won both of her previous starts over the 3m trip. She was then tried in a much shorter two-mile race, but found the pace just a little too sharp. She runs here off a mark of 102 which is close to a career high mark, but she goes well enough fresh and I can see her running a big race.
