Racing fans, we have a cracking card at Ffos Las on Thursday and I think I have found two solid bets for the day. They both come from the Anthony Honeyball stable, with the first running in the opening Maiden Hurdle, where there are some decent sorts in the lineup. My NAP selection comes a little later on in the card, and runs in the 2m 4f Handicap Hurdle. Between the pair of them, I am expecting big things.
Coming on Friday we have the Epsom Oaks to take a look at. Then on Saturday, we have the biggest Flat Classic of the year to look forward to - the Epsom Derby. Naturally, I’ll be previewing both races, so keep your eyes peeled for those coming up.
Ladbrokes needs no introduction, but their generous welcome offer certainly does. Bet £5, and you’ll get £20 in free bets. It’s the perfect way to get some extra value for Thursday's racing at Ffos Las.
We have a few nice sorts in the lineup here, all looking to break their maidens. Boyles Hill is a really interesting contender here. He was sent to Evan Williams with a decent reputation from the PTP scene and finished a close second in Bumper here at Ffos Las on his yard debut. That was a decent enough race and he could get competitive again. Country Park, running for Jonjo O’Neill, clearly has more ability than he showed us last time and may well have come on plenty for that run.
But my selection here is
Double Dragon
who placed third on his Hurdles debut at Hereford, despite having done plenty wrong on the way round. He was much too keen and he had a tendency to hang left, neither of which helped his chances. Nevertheless, he finished strongly and I’m certain that he learned plenty from the experience.
He clearly has ability and with that race under his belt, I fully expect him to be in the thick of things
here.
Gavin runs here for the Bowen team and he could have a chance based on his progression last season. He is a bit of an unknown quantity as this will be his first run since last November, but he is a nice type and I wouldn’t be too quick to dismiss him.
That said, I find it hard to see past Jasmin De Grugy, who is my Thursday NAP. He’s here looking to make it three wins on the spin, having won over course and distance at the beginning of this month, then bolting up at Uttoxeter next time out, despite an 11lb hike in weight. He clearly hasn’t finished improving yet, and his mark of 103 leaves sufficient room for plenty more progression. Jasmin De Grugy is definitely one for your trackers, and I see him winning easily here.
