We have a decent card of racing at Ludlow on Tuesday, and I have two bets lined up for the day. My first pick runs in the Introductory Hurdle, where he takes a marked step up in trip, but I think it will suit him really well. He did well on his seasonal debut, and with conditions that are sure to suit him here, he should be tough to beat.
Then we go on to the Stayers’ Chase, where I’m siding with a horse who won for us on his Chase debut. He will come up against slightly tougher opposition this time around, but even a moderate improvement from his run last time out should see him get competitive again. I’m hoping my two selections can bring us a good result, as we have some brilliant racing to come over the weekend, so watch this space.
With another big weekend ahead of us, now is a great time to pick up some free bets from BetMGM. If you
bet £10, you’ll get £60 in free bets. You won't find a finer start for the weekend!
My first betting tip for Tuesday comes in the Introductory Hurdle, where we have a small, but decent, lineup. The first noteworthy runner is The Expensive One, who runs for the Twiston-Davies team. He is certainly open to more, but he does need to improve a significant amount to get on terms here. I quietly fancied this one last time out, but he was quite disappointing and needs to up his game. Deep Purple looks a nice gelding for Dan Skelton, and he did well to win at Southwell last time out. He was a tad quirky, but was game enough at the finish, so the step up in trip may bring out a little more from him.
However, my suggestion here is Jamie Snowden’s
Wendigo, who looks open to a lot of improvement on the second start of his campaign. Prior to his seasonal debut at Hexham, it was mentioned that he may need the run. Nevertheless he travelled well most of the way round, just lacking a touch of sharpness at the finish.
Wendigo is a straightforward sort, who looks more than ready to step up in trip. That last run will have done him a big favour in my opinion, and any improvement at all makes him tough to beat here.
The next race is a Handicap Chase for the Stayers. Rockinastorm runs off a decent mark here for the Henry Daly team, who are flying at present, and he is sure to make his presence felt in this sphere. However, I’m sticking with The Kniphand who won impressively for us last time out at Southwell. This Twiston-Davies contender is sure to have improved for the experience, and despite carrying top weight here, I’m sure he has even more to show us.
The Kniphand travelled and jumped superbly last time, finishing strongly to win by six lengths. But what impressed me the most is how he learned on the job that day and is sure to go even better this time. He is versatile when it comes to ground conditions and he should still be ahead of the handicapper here. This is a competitive race, but I see The Kniphand crossing the finish line ahead of his rivals here.
