Today’s betting tip comes from Lingfield, and he has a fantastic record at this track. He runs in the 7.5f handicap and I think he has an exceptional chance of adding another win to his resume here.
If you are new to my articles, I typically post four betting tips here most weeks. However, I also write other types of content as well. This could be big race trends or antepost selections. If you haven’t already seen them, check out my antepost selections for the 2026 Cheltenham Festival and the 2026 Grand National. Also, make sure you tune in Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, as I’ll have more free betting tips to come.
Several bookmakers are offering the best price available at 9/2. However, Unibet’s sign up offer sets them apart from the rest. If you bet £10, you’ll get £40 in free bets. Yet another brilliant bookmaker deal.
Yantarni’s trainer, Ian Williams, has fired in two winners over the last two days with Be Frank at 15/2 on Sunday, and Queensland Boy at 10/1 yesterday. I think he can make it three in three days with Yantarni.
Yantarni is yet to taste defeat at Lingfield, with two wins from his two runs here. Both of those runs came in June last year, and they were actually successive runs just five days apart.
Both were over the 7f trip, but he has form over 1m too, so the extra half a furlong today will not be an issue for him. He clearly loves this track and thrives on it, so hopefully that can be the catalyst for a return to form!
Yantarni has four career wins to his name, and they have come off marks of 80, 71, 77 and 82. Therefore, he looks dangerously handicapped off a mark of 77, with his latest win coming off 5lb higher, and three of his four wins coming off this mark or above.
I also find it very interesting that he wore cheekpieces for his last three wins and they return again today, alongside his usual tongue tie.
Yantarni already has plenty in his favour, but I find the booking of Rossa Ryan very eye-catching. He is a top jockey, so he is always going to be a great choice for any horse.
However, he has a fantastic record for Ian Williams, consisting of six wins (32%) with a further five top four finishes (58%) from 19 rides.
To date, if you had backed all of Rossa Ryan’s rides for Ian Williams with a £1 level stake, you would be sitting on a profit of +£13.50, so Ian evidently doesn’t just book Rossa for the sake of it.
As you can see there are plenty of positives about Yantarni’s chances today, and, I think he could be underestimated at a price of 9/2 in this small field. However, there are a couple of negatives to note as well.
Yantarni has been in poor form since August, with form figures reading 0788-00680, so we are relying on a return to form as he heads back to Lingfield. In addition, we have Profit Refused as the race favourite. He looks to have a very solid chance here for Pompey Ventures, an outfit that does very well with their purchases.
All things considered though, I think Yantarni’s chances are stronger than his 9/2 price suggests and he’s a bet for me today. That said, due to the couple of negative points, I have trimmed the stake down to a 0.75pt Win.
