The 2024/25 National Hunt season is upon us, and we finally have a full week of Jumps racing to look forward to.
For Tuesday, I have two betting tips for you coming from Fontwell and Warwick. The first of them runs in the Novices’ Handicap Chase at Fontwell. He was ultra-mpressive last time out off the back of a long break and I believe he can repeat that performance here.
My second pick, and NAP bet of the day, runs at Warwick a little later. Warwick is a real Jumpers’ course and my contestant really looked the part last time out at Worcester, so he looks all set to make his way to the winners enclosure this time.
Get ready for a busy week of Jumps racing with this offer from 10Bet. Get a 100% match, worth up to £50. If you don’t have an account there already, it’s definitely worth a look.
We start the day at Fontwell in the Novices Handicap Chase and you can make a case for a few runners here. The top-weighted Coconut Twist is an interesting one, who has shown consistent improvement. He won on his first start of the season and has since run some excellent races in defeat. It’s also more than possible that the step up in trip here will bring out the best in him. Puddlesinthepark has been slightly frustrating to follow, but there is a big run in him somewhere for sure. I think both of those two are likely to get quite competitive here.
That said, I’m siding with
Instant Gambler. He was very impressive last time out over course and distance. He absolutely bolted up after a really long lay off and that was his first try in a Stayers’ race too.
He travelled well, jumped well, and there was nothing flukey about his performance whatsoever. Although he needs to back it up, I think he has every chance of doing so. If there were more improvers in the field it would be more of a concern, but this race should suit him tactically and I see no reason why he shouldn’t repeat his last effort. I am more than happy to side with him here.
We have a very nice Handicap Chase to get stuck into here. Dan Skelton runs two, with Get Up Mush as his first string. This one can be a little temperamental, but he has plenty of ability and the step up to the extended three miles looks a wise choice for him. I’m sure he will have no issues with staying, and if Harry Skelton makes best use of him, then he must come into the equation. Meanwhile, Skelton’s second string,Sacre Coeur, takes a huge step up in trip for this run. If he stays he will go well based on his form, but it still presents a big question mark.
Anway, my pick here is the top-weighted Pull Again Green, who goes up in trip, but drops in class to contest here, and I think he is more than smart enough to get the job done. I was really encouraged by his third place finish to Kinondo Kwetu last time out at Worcester, which came straight after a two month break. Most importantly, he jumped much better than we had seen previously. In the past, he has always had a tendency to make a few mistakes, but he was very impressive in the jumping department at Worcester. I expect him to sit behind the pace and play his cards late, so don’t expect anything different. But what you can expect is for Pull Again Green to be in the winners enclosure.
