My first betting tip for this week runs at Brighton, and she is a two-time winner at this track. She lines up in the 1m Apprentice Handicap, and I think she has a great chance of picking up her third win if she puts her best foot forward.
If you are new to my articles, I typically post four betting tips each week, but I sometimes write other types of content like big race trends pieces, and antepost selections. On that note, don’t forget to check out my antepost selections for the 2026 Cheltenham Festival, and the 2026 Grand National to catch those early prices. Also, make sure you tune in again on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week, as I have more free betting tips coming up.
BetMGM are currently offering the best price available for Spanish Mane at 10/1. As well as great odds, they have a brilliant offer for new customers too. If you bet £10, you’ll get £40 of free bets. You’ll struggle to find a better deal than this one!
There are other reasons why I think Spanish Mane can win this race and in the next parts of this article, I’ll be breaking them down for you.
In this modest Class 6 Handicap, I think Spanish Mane could be dangerous if she’s on song, here’s why:
Two of the 12 wins that Spanish Mane has achieved have come at Brighton. In June 2022, she won here over 1m off a mark of 57. She then followed that victory up the following month over 7f off a mark of 60.
Overall she has a solid record of two wins and three places from her eight runs at Brighton, so she clearly enjoys this unique track. Returning here again today, she surely must be of interest?
In these Apprentice Handicaps, the jockey can have a big impact on the result and Laura Coughlan has already proved she can get the job done:
Today, Spanish Mane has Laura holding the reins again, which makes me feel optimistic given her fantastic record when riding this mare.
When you consider that Spanish Mane has dropped to her last winning mark, she returns to Brighton, and Laura Coughlan returns to the saddle, it’s easy to make a case for this mare. And at her current price of 10/1, I certainly feel she is underestimated in the market.
That said, she was very poor on her last two starts, and needs to bounce back. However, at the age of 10, there is no guarantee she will do so, meaning there is plenty of risk attached to backing her. Given we are betting on an out-of-form 10-year-old mare that is running in a Class 6 (0-60) Apprentice Handicap, I suggest keeping the stakes very low at a 0.25pt Win!
Below you will see some of the fantastic free bet offers currently available from our recommended bookmaker brands. Make sure to check them out - there’s plenty of value to be had from these deals!
