My betting tip runs in the finale at Kempton today, which is a 1m 3f Handicap for horses rated 0-60. I think Wyld Bill has been lined up to win on his Handicap debut, and hopefully he can improve as expected.
If you are new to my content, I post four articles per week here. They are usually betting tips, but you’ll also see big race trends and antepost tips occasionally. If you look back through my previous articles, you’ll find antepost picks for the Northumberland Plate, 2026 Cheltenham Festival and the 2026 Grand National. While you still have plenty of time to back these horses, I recommend that you get on at the early prices for the best value. Meanwhile, make sure to tune back in tomorrow and Friday, as I'll have more betting tips for you on both days.
As well as offering the joint best price available of 12/1, Betfred are also offering 4 places. As if all of this value wasn’t enough, they have arguably the best sign up offer around at present. If you bet £10, you’ll get £50 in free bets. Make sure you take advantage of this phenomenal offer.
Denis Quinn looks to have campaigned this horse with a Handicap in mind, and I think his plotting will pay dividends in this race today. There are a few angles that I like about Wyld Bill and I’ll be breaking them down for you.
Initially this horse was with Michael Bell and he ran twice under his care. Those two runs came over 1m and 1m2f. The debut run was modest enough and on the second run, he looked to go wrong on the turn and was soon pulled up.
He was subsequently switched from Michael Bell to James Owen and ran over hurdles. It was a hot race won by subsequent Triumph Hurdle second and Grade 1 winner - Lulamba and he made no real impression.
He was subsequently sold by The Gredley Family for just 1,000 GNS and could end up being a bargain for new owner - Chris Housego. Chris placed him with Denis Quinn and his two runs to date have been over an inadequate 7f trip.
As a result, he’s been given an opening handicap mark of just 57 and I think he’s better than that. He now steps up 4f in trip to 1m3f and I think we’ll see a different horse now on handicap debut.
As well as stepping him up in trip, Denis Quinn has decided Wyld Bill will wear blinkers for the first time today.
Blinkers can have a positive effect on a horse, but more than anything, it is usually a huge sign that the horse will be trying to win. So I’d say it’s no coincidence that Wyld Bill has been given a low handicap mark, a step up in trip, and wears blinkers for the first time.
I also find the jockey bookings very interesting for this horse.
Callum Shepherd and Clifford Lee both rode him for Michael Bell. Sam Twiston-Davies took the ride for James Owen. Then when he was switched to Denis Quinn’s yard, Laura Pearson took both rides, where Wyld Bill went off at 50/1 and 200/1, and was well beaten on both occasions.
Along with the low handicap mark and the addition of blinkers, Darragh Keenan replaces Laura Pearson. What makes this particularly interesting is that Darragh Keenan has only ever ridden for the owner once, and that horse won…
This strongly suggests that we will see a different horse on his Handicap debut today.
For me, all of the stars are aligning here for Wyld Bill and he could be seriously underestimated at 12/1.
He has been campaigned over inadequate trips to get him to a low handicap mark, he gets a step up in trip, wears blinkers for the first time, Darragh Keenan takes the ride.
Wyld Bill is drawn in Stall 10, which is a negative. However, as he is going up in trip, I’d expect him to be dropped in anyway. Let’s just say It would be far more of an inconvenience if he was one that wanted to go forward.
Lawn Ranger will want to go on in here, and I doubt Uzincso will be far away either. There are also plenty more in here that like to race prominently, so we should get a good gallop for Wyld Bill to aim at. Hopefully, he’ll be mowing them all down at the business end.
The plan looks clear cut here, and I like what I’m seeing from various angles, so, Wyld Bill is a 1pt each way bet for me at a price of 12/1 with 4 places.
The list below contains a handful of our bookmaker partners and details the free bet offers that they currently have available. If you don’t already have an account with any of them, I would highly recommend that you take a closer look.
While I typically produce four articles each week for betting.co.uk with free-to-access betting tips, the majority of my selections are exclusively for my Discord members.
The Discord members enjoyed a very profitable month in April. For the advised prices and place terms (no standouts), we were +17.17pts, and using the best prices and place terms, we were +30.53pts.
We were in profit again for May. At the advised prices and place terms we were +5.095pts, and at the best available prices and place terms, we were +10.24pts.
If you had signed up at the start of April, and bet £10 per advised point, taking the best prices and place terms available, you would have generated a profit of +£407.70 across the last two months.
If all of that is not enough, we have already hit 4/1, 12/1, 4/1, 4/1, 5/2 & 11/2 winners in June with many more places!
If you would like to give the Discord a try I'd be more than happy to see you there, but if you have any questions to ask before signing up, my DMs are open over on X @RacingGav
