Welcome back racing fans. We’ve done spectacularly well over the last few days, with two Ffos Las winners from two bets on Thursday, and then all four of my Lucky 15 picks getting themselves into the winner’s enclosure at Epsom on Friday. Hopefully, we can keep the good times rolling into this week.
And on that note, I’ve found two selections for you on Wednesday that should get very competitive in their respective races. Both selections run over the Jumps at Newton Abbot and I think the ground conditions will suit the pair of them very nicely indeed.
Also before I forget, we have a new forum here on betting.co.uk where you can share your thoughts and views on all things betting! Get signed up today, you’ll find the ‘Forum’ link on the top menu bar.
With a cracking day of racing at Newton Abbot, I have teamed up with BetMGM to bring you this great deal. If you bet £10, you’ll get £40 in free bets. With two hot tips on the table, it's well worth a second glance.
In the opening race at Newton Abbot we have a competitive Handicap Chase here for the Stayers. We have 12 runners in the lineup and it’s easy to make a case for a good number of them. Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden team up with Pentire Head and he is going to be a nice Chaser in my opinion. Chasing has always been on the cards for him and it would be no surprise to see him feature heavily here. Puddlesinthepark for Evan Williams is another interesting contender and he looks all set for a steadily progressive season. There are also several more who look very well-handicapped and could easily get involved if they bounce back to form.
The one I’ve decided to go for here is course and distance winner
Lightonthewing, who runs for Sue Gardner. He’s a very solid operator who jumps very well indeed and he’s a strong finisher too. Although he will need a few things to work out for him during the race, he is certain to get competitive here and I imagine he will receive a fair amount of support.
Lightonthewing is a very experienced Chaser who has stamina assured on this surface and good speed figures to go with it. He’s a rock solid each way bet to start the day.
My second betting tip for Wednesday runs in the 2m 4f Handicap Chase. Once again, Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden may well play a part here with Him Malaya, who makes his Chase debut in this small but fairly competitive race. He is by Martaline, so tackling the bigger fences should be second nature for him and it would be no surprise to see him take a step forward here.
However, I think that the one to beat is the eight-year-old American Gerry who sets a good standard. He ran here last time out and finished second over a furlong more, which makes him the one to beat. He is also the most consistent of these five runners and a repeat effort of his latest run should see him get his nose in front this time. American Gerry is a solid option in a race where a few have question marks.
