We have some nice midweek Jumps action coming up at Wetherby and Hereford on Wednesday, and I have two standout selections to highlight. The first of them runs at Wetherby in the 2m 4f Handicap Hurdle, where I quite like the Greenall and Guerriero runner who returns after a long absence. Based on his peak form, this horse should win this race easily, and his trainers are in top form themselves.
My NAP bet for Wednesday is a mare that looks way ahead of her mark. She comes up against a fair few out of form horses in this Mares’ Handicap Hurdle, so I don’t see how she won’t win this race. She will get a decent punt from me to back up that thought anyway.
Incidentally, my last two NAP selections both landed, and as it’s another busy week of racing from Thursday right through the weekend, let’s keep the run going!
With two hot betting tips for Wednesday to consider, now is the perfect time to pick up some free bets from Ladbrokes.
Bet £5, and you’ll get £20 in free bets. Perfect for some midweek punting.
This Handicap Hurdle over at Wetherby is a really good contest. Matchless makes a lot of appeal, and he has race fitness on his side, but his 7lb penalty is a slight worry in this company. He’ll come up against some decent horses here and that extra weight may catch him out. The bottom-weighted Mr Bramley is another in the field with some potential, but this is his first run after a break, and I think it’s best just to watch him this time around.
That being said, I am going to take a chance on
Herbiers
here. Although he hasn’t been seen for 576 days, which is something that must be taken into consideration, his yard is in such excellent form that I am willing to take on trust that he will turn up firing.
He has the best form on offer in this field, and was on the verge of becoming a Graded horse before his break, so a return to anywhere near that level of form will see him get very competitive here. This is a very winnable race for him and with conditions in his favour, Herbiers gets my vote.
The Mares’ Handicap Hurdle over at Hereford has some lovely horses lining up. Strong Belle, who runs for the Twiston-Davies team, is a worthy contender, and if she bounces back to her best, then she is still on a very fair Handicap mark here. Saisissannte returns to action after more than a year off the track, but if she can regain her previous form, then she is another one to keep a close eye on for the future.
But for me, this race is all about Fergal O’Brien’s mare, Billams Legacy. She is an ultra-consistent mare, who may not have reached her ceiling yet, and her jumping is superb. She is a very slick Hurdler, who is quickly away from each jump, and she has plenty of speed too. She finished second five times in a row before bolting up last time out off a mark of 100. Despite that she has gone up to 105 now, she still looks way ahead of the handicapper. The penny seems to have really dropped for her now, and I am expecting a superb performance from Billams Legacy here.
