For Wednesday's racing, I have two selections with solid chances of finding themselves in the winner's enclosure. My first pick runs in the Amateur Jockeys Handicap and whilst I don't typically bet on these races, I’m going to make an exception for this one. My selection looks primed for a huge run and he is a strong each-way proposition.
Over at Brighton, my NAP pick comes in the mile Handicap. This runner is down to the lowest mark of his career, and finally has his optimum running conditions again. I expect a massive effort from this one, he ticks all the right boxes, and I’ll be very disappointed if he isn’t right there at the finish. As the week progresses, I’ll have plenty more betting tips lined up, so make sure you stay tuned in here at Betting.co.uk.
It’s not often we are blessed with a totally new offer, but today we’ve got one. This is a slightly different type of deal where you get a 50% refund, up to £25, if your first bet loses. Plus, 25 free spins on a top slot game.
My first betting tip for Wednesday runs in the Amateur Jockeys Handicap, which is an unusually competitive race. Bateman is the only three-year-old in the lineup, and he holds some fairly strong credentials. He won on his penultimate start over seven furlongs, and also performed reasonably well over the mile last time out. While the step up to 1m 2f doesn’t seem an obvious move, Bateman is on the rise and still relatively unexposed, so he may not be far off again.
Meanwhile, Tim Easterby has three entries in this race which include two course and distance winners. Just Hiss is an eleven-year-old in good form, having finished second last time out. He remains well-treated by the handicapper but I think his best days might be behind him now. Another Easterby entrant is Highwaygrey, who carries a 4lb penalty for his recent course and distance win, but despite the rise, he should still get competitive.
However, the one I’m siding with is Tim Easterby’s third runner, which is
Burglar’s Dream. This one looks very well-treated indeed, and I believe he’s all set for a big effort here. He is still a maiden after 11 starts but travels well, and has gone very close off a mark of 66 - form that looks pretty solid. Burglar's Dream has been tried over 1m 4f previously, finding it a bit of a stretch, and the drop back to this trip last time out worked really well.
This time around he runs off a mark of 62, and has Tim Easterby's son William in the saddle, who is sure to get the best out of this gelding.
My NAP bet comes over at Brighton, in the Classified Stakes. We have a couple of useful types in the lineup here, including the consistent Hawajes, who is certain to give it another good go. However, getting his head in front has been a slight issue just recently. Port Noir is in a similar position. He has plenty of ability, but hasn’t been the strongest finisher, so I’m taking them both on.
I think this is a really good opportunity for Rivas Rob Roy to get back to winning ways. He seems to thrive over course and distance, having won or placed in all three of his mile starts here. Plus, he has dropped to a very lenient mark of 49, his lowest for a very long time. His last two starts here were over seven furlongs, and although he ran well enough in defeat, he is clearly seen at his best over the mile. He is a very straightforward type, who finishes out his races really well, and I think this race has been his target for a while now.
