Carabao Cup - Round of 16 Preview and Tips

With the recent international break, the drama of European nights, and an unpredictable Premier League campaign, many fans may have forgotten that we are reaching the latter stages of the Carabao Cup.

Some heavy hitters remain in the tournament, whilst some underdogs are raring to make themselves the shock result of the round of 16. So, what are the games to watch in the Carabao Cup round of 16?

QPR vs Sunderland - Tuesday 26th October

The only tie that doesn’t contain at least one Premier League team is Queens Park Rangers against Sunderland on Tuesday night. The lone League One team left, Sunderland, travel to London after impressing domestically through 12 games.  Lee Johnson’s side has only been defeated in one of their last eleven but due to them being a division lower - Sunderland is 255/100 to pick up the win at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Despite City being an extremely tough test, ‘The Hammers’ should enter this fixture in good spirits. The London side has made an unbeaten start in Europe, and depending on their result against Tottenham, could re-enter the top four before this fixture is played.

However, Manchester City is continuing its usual domestic and European dominance. Although they have a tough group in the Champions League, they have impressed against both Leipzig and Club Brugge to sit comfortably in their European group whilst being within touching distance of the top spot in the Premier League.
