Tyson Fury is back again, but for how long this time?
Fury has retired from professional boxing five times during his career, but he always finds his way back to the ring. Whether or not he will become a world champion yet again remains to be seen, but he will be entertaining along the way.
Fury has not been in the ring since he lost to Oleksandr Usyk for a second time as he attempted to win the WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, IBO and The Ring heavyweight titles.
That fight took place at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia on 21st December 2024 with Usyk winning a unanimous decision on points. Fury believed he had done enough to win the fight and was furious at the judges scorecards.
His last victory was also in controversial fashion as he defeated UFC fighter Francis Ngannou in a split decision. Ngannou rocked Fury as he knocked him down in the third round on 28th October 2023, but he recovered to get his hand raised at the end.
After the win over Ngannou, Fury lost twice to Usyk and he knows he needs to put in a good performance against Makhmudov if he is going to get back into the world title picture.
Makhmudov is a powerful puncher and will push Fury all the way. Makhmudov has a professional record of 21 wins and two defeats. Out of those 21 wins, he has won 19 of those via knockout.
Makhmudov might not be a household name with British fight fans, but he has beaten the likes of David Allen, Carlos Takam and Mariusz Wach.
Fury should have no real problems beating Makhmudov, but has been out of the ring for quite a while. It might take Fury a while to get back to the form he was in before his fifth retirement.
I would not be surprised if Fury tries to entertain and plays with Makhmudov for a while, but I am not convinced he gets the Russian out of there. I have been on the money with my latest boxing betting tips backing both Deontay Wilder and Caroline Dubois to both win on points.
I am going for another points victory with Fury beating Makhmudov after all 12 rounds have been completed.
