Normally there is a lot of anticipation ahead of the Boxing Day Test, but seeing as the series is now over as a contest, the excitement is no where near as high as it should be.
England have been nothing short of abysmal on this tour. They are 3-0 down after three Test with just 11 days of cricket being played. They showed a little bit of a fight in their 82-ru loss in the third Test in Adelaide - but it was no where near enough.
I honestly cannot see England beating Australia on this tour, not unless Pat Cummins decides to pick 11 Australians out of the crowd to face England, and even then I would still not be confident.
England's batsmen have looked petrified when facing the likes of Scott Boland, Cummins and Mitchell Starc - they have even panicked when Nathan Lyon has had the ball in his hand. They have just had no answers to the bowling attack - I cannot see anything changing in Melbourne.
Only Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer have come out of tour with any credibility, and the likes of Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Jamie Smith and Harry Brook are playing for their Test careers.
I started this tour full of optimism. Maybe not convinced that they could win the Ashes, but I honestly thought they would make a fight of it. It has been embarrassing to watch, but yet I still tune in to watch the action.
Australia will be without Nathan Lyon after he was injured in the third Test, but England will still have to cope with Cummins, Starc, Boland and Cameron Green and I have not seen any evidence that England will be able to contain them - especially Starc who has taken 22 wickets in three Test matches.
Starc is in the form of his life and I believe he will continue to do so and punish England by being Australia's top bowler once again. The series might be over, but Australia will not rest until they have secured a 5-0 series whitewash and totally humiliated Stokes and his players.
Steve Smith is expected to come back into the side after missing the Adelaide Test with a bout of Vertigo. Travis Head has scored 379 runs already and I am backing him to be Australia's top scorer in the first innings and to score at least a half century.
I am also backing Smith to score over 50 runs in the first innings as the home side pile the misery on a beaten tourist teams.
When it comes to England, the top order is capable of making big runs but for some reason they are struggling. I will back Joe Root to be England's top scorer, while I expect Stokes to smash another half century.
England opted to leave a spinner out of the team in the third Test on a pitch that had plenty of turn, only time will tell whether Shoaib Bashir gets his chance in Melbourne. Archer has been England's best bowler and I am backing him to be their best in the first innings.
