Until now. After going through the ESL Pro League Conference, where they lost to Eternal Fire right off the gates but managed to beat Sprout, ORDER, and Illuminar Gaming in the Lower Bracket, FTW finally gets to step into the main stage and try their luck against the elites.
Out of the 24 competing teams, 12 teams will be eliminated in the Group Stage. It’s almost a guarantee that FTW already has their name written on one of those losing spots. Or will they continue to pull one upset after another?
HEET
Like FTW, HEET also got their ESL Pro League Season 16 seed through the Conference. And like FTW, they also fell off to the Lower Bracket, where they had to beat Encore ESC, HUMMER Esports, and Falcons Esports to get their shot.
Between HEET and Eternal Fire, it’s tough to say which one will likely become the main outside bet. They’re about equal in terms of total approximate winnings, and they both haven’t got a lot of experience playing in big events.
We reckon HEET is probably more suited for the unfortunate title because of one good reason: they only launched their CS:GO division on the 19th of January this year, which means they’re still getting a feel of their new brand, organisation-wise and team-wise.
