Unfortunately, a couple of stars that arenāt likely to make an appearance are Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey. When speaking to Sports Illustrated, Dana White stated they were ādefinitely not coming back for UFC 300.ā Are we devastated? Yes, of course. Are we excited enough about Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill to get over it? You betcha.
The anticipated light heavyweight championship fight will see Pereira defend his title for the first time against No.1 ranked contender Jamahal Hill. Hill being a former title holder himself puts him in good stead and is sure to guarantee one hell of a fight!
Pereira snatched the title with a terrific knockout of Prochazka back during UFC 295. However, if you ask Prochazka himself, he feels that Jamahal Hill may be able to take the lead. While speaking to Sportskeeda, Prochazka announced that there āare more weapons on Jamahal Hillās sideā. We guess only time will tell whether heās right or not.
The second championship bout creates history at UFC, with the first ever all-chinese UFC title fight. Zhang Weili will defend against Yan Xiaonan for her strawweight title.
ESPN has Zhang ranked as the top womenās MMA fighter in the world, with Yan ranked as low as 7 (as if being 7th in the world is low!), itās sure to be an interesting fight. This could be the fight to raise Xiaonan in the ranks. Or will Weili retain her title and her standing?
The second question on everyoneās lips after āwhoās fighting?ā is usually āwhoās going to win?ā
We headed over to Bet365 to get an online betting siteās point of view on the main cardā¦
Itās also looking likely that Dana White will have some surprises in store for us on the actual night. Weāre already expecting a special canvas (similar to UFC 200 when the usual grey colour was switched to a jazzy gold). In the promo video for the event, the CEO stated that āUFC 300 is gonna be one of those events that people are never gonna forgetā. With the line up that he has in store for us, we donāt doubt it!
Do you agree with Bet365ās odds? Or do you have a sneaky suspicion about what will go down? Either way, it all happens in Vegas next month. Before you decide on your winner, be sure to check out our Bet365 review to pick up one of their generous betting bonuses to use on your UFC 300 bets.
