The penultimate meeting of the 2022 Formula 1 season is due to take place on Sunday 13 November at Interlagos, São Paulo. However, recent political events in the country have created an uncomfortable atmosphere and it isn't 100% certain that the event will still take place.

The country's presidential elections saw a narrow victory for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the opposition is currently refusing to accept the decision. This has led to huge demonstrations with the country Split 50/50 down the middle. Those protesting against the result are currently blockading all major travel routes around the country, including near the racetrack in São Paulo. It is a tense time as we await official confirmation from the FIA.
The 7-time world champion has had a torrid time in recent months as the Mercedes team struggled to keep up with the competition. Hamilton and his teammate, George Russell, have both failed to win any races this season with only second and third-place podium finishes to speak of.
However, the previous 2 races in the United States and Mexico have seen Hamilton get closer to the prize. He's finished second on both occasions and will be hoping to capitalise on recent improvements to both the car and his own personal motivation. Some of the best bookmakers for betting on sports are starting to narrow the odds on Hamilton grabbing a victory before the season’s out. He won here last year and would love a repeat performance that saw him pip his arch-rival, Max Verstappen, to the post on that occasion.
Of course, Interlagos holds a special place in Hamilton’s heart for other reasons. It was here that he won his first-ever Formula 1 title in spectacular style. With just a few corners to go on the last lap, he moved into 5th place to clinch the championship by 1 point from Felipe Massa who was set to be crowned that day on home soil.
The Dutchman had a disappointing start to the season with various problems in the Red Bull car. It initially looked like Ferrari's Charles Leclerc was going to make life very difficult as he won two out of the first three races of the season. But it was Verstappen who pressed hardest from the Italian Grand Prix onwards. He has now racked up an incredible 14 race wins this season.
The Red Bull star won here at Interlagos 2 years ago before being beaten by Hamilton last time around. He'll be extremely keen to continue his winning form and not let the Brit slip back into winning ways at the end of such a 1-sided season.
The best betting offers in the UK already have Verstappen down as the sure-fire victor in Brazil this year. Having already been crowned Champion at the end of the Japanese Grand Prix nearly a month ago, he has nothing left to prove but will be eager to add to his already impressive tally.
Being the only other team to secure a win this season, Ferrari would love to take home a couple of victories during the last 2 races. Charles Leclerc has managed 3 victories with Carlos Sainz picking up just 1 first-place finish. The Maranello-based team were hoping for great things this year and many Formula 1 betting odds had them down for championship favourites earlier on in the season. But recent form hasn’t been great and it’s unlikely that they will start to make much of an impact so late on.
