Impossible to choose a winner

It has been 23 years since Nottingham Forest last played a Premier League game, but that will all change if they can beat Huddersfield Town in Sunday’s Playoff Final at Wembley. After edging past Sheffield United on penalties in the semi finals, Forest come into the game confident of victory and are 6/5 favourites to win the game in 90 minutes. The Terriers also had a nervy semi final, beating Luton Town 2-1 on aggregate thanks to a late goal from Jordan Rhodes. 888Sport have them priced at 12/5 to win without the need for extra time.

Just two points separated the sides during the league season. Their two encounters resulted in one win apiece, whilst their previous eight matchups have seen both sides emerge with four wins. Every angle in this game points towards a close encounter, making the 9/4 on the game going to extra time seem very appealing.

The League Two Final on Saturday looks even closer to call, both sides are currently 17/10 to win in 90 minutes.

Port Vale finished the season one point ahead of Mansfield in an extremely tight League Two table. In reality, Vale should have secured a top three finish and gone up automatically, but a final week collapse meant they had to endure a tense penalty victory over Swindon Town to qualify for the final. Mansfield had a much more straightforward passage to Wembley, as they beat Northampton Town 3-1 on aggregate.
