Irlam picked up a big three points with a 2-0 win over early front-runners Wythenshawe Town.

Goals from Andrew Langford and Max Bardsley either side of half-time wrapped up the win for the home side.

It’s back-to-back league wins for John Main’s side for the first time this season after thrashing Winsford United 7-1 in their last match.

James Kinsey’s side are facing an inevitable task at the moment with injuries, with Liam Martin and Harvey Whyte joining the queue for the physio’s room after coming off in the first half.

Town are still second in the table, while Irlam have climbed to 13th.

Elsewhere, goals from Dale Korie and Lewis Boyd weren’t enough to save Ashton Athletic from a 4-2 home defeat to Runcorn Town.

D1 South: West maintain unbeaten streak

West Didsbury & Chorlton remain unbeaten in Division One South after thumping Cammell Laird 5-0 away from home.

A first half brace from Liam Delaney and strikes from Dontai Gabidon, Ben Elliott and Rhain Davis ensured Chris Rowley’s side came back to Manchester with three points.

It’s now six straight wins for the side, who have climbed to the top of the table, making the most of New Mills’ midweek inactivity.

D1 South: Abbey Hey make it eight in a row

A late Rhys Clooney winner sealed eight wins in a row for Abbey Hey as they beat Barnton 2-1.

Clooney had put his side ahead in the first half, with substitute Jordan Cobley levelling the game late on and seemingly spoiling Abbey’s party.

Clooney’s goal three minutes from time though gave his side yet another victory, and the Gorton side are now only one point off the top after rapidly rising up the table in recent weeks.

D1 South: Davin at the double for Town

On Monday night, a Pat Davin double handed Cheadle Town a 2-0 win at Maine Road.

Davin’s brace of penalties has now taken him to eight for the season and given the club a first win in three games.

Struggling Maine Road have now lost five of their last six games and are in 17th place in the table.

It was a frustrating night for Cheadle Heath Nomads, with their game against Staffordshire side Brocton called off due to a motorway closure.

In D1 North, Chadderton took a point in a goalless draw at Golcar United.
