Wythenshawe Town picked up a first league win in three games as they beat Prestwich Heys 4-1.
The home side were 2-1 up at half time, and took the lead through Brad Byrne after six minutes. Jack Coop briefly levelled the scores, with Joel Bembo-Leta again giving Wythenshawe the advantage on the stroke of half time.
Further goals from Jan Palinskas and another from Byrne wrapped up another three points for James Kinsey’s side, who are in second place in the table. Prestwich have dropped a place to 18th.
Avro all three points with a late 2-1 win at Congleton Town.
Joe Rathbone had put his side ahead after just four minutes before Congleton equalised midway through the second half through Tom Pope.
The game looked set to finish all square until a late goal for the visitors. There’s some confusion as to who scored it, with Avro crediting the returning Duncan Knott, but the NWC have it down as an own goal.
What does matter is the goal stands and Avro take all three points, and are up to ninth in the league.
Irlam now have four consecutive wins in all competitions after picking up a 1-0 away victory at struggling Padiham.
After beating Cheadle Town in the FA Vase by the same scoreline last weekend, Irlam continued their good form with Max Bardsley-Rowe’s late penalty enough to take the three points.
The Silver Street side have now climbed into tenth in the league.
Elsewhere, Ashton Athletic took a point in a 2-2 away draw at AFC Liverpool, with goals coming from Lewis Boyd and a Dale Korie-Butler penalty. The point moves them out of the relegation places and into 19th place.
In Division One North, Daisy Hill lost 3-0 at home to Campion on Monday night.
