Its 4th vs 6th this Saturday in the Bundesliga as Borussia Dortmund entertain Koln. After their 4-2 win in the Champions League, the hosts will be in a confident mood they can make it two wins on the bounce.
Nathan Joyes talks you through his Bundesliga betting tips for this weekend as Koln look to spring a surprise at Iduna Park.
After suffering their first defeat of the season last weekend against Bayern, Dortmund quickly returned to winning ways with a 4-2 win over Copenhagen.
That was their sixth win across all competitions this season, with the three coming at home across the Bundesliga and Champions League. Dortmund have only conceded one in front of their loyal supporters, which is why many expect them to finish close to Bayern this campaign.
They haven't been shy at the other end of the pitch, scoring at least three goals on five different occasions this season, including scoring four three times. Dortmund have been lethal - and Koln will do well to contain them on Saturday evening.
Koln have started the season strongly and head to Iduna Park knowing a win would potentially propel them into 4th spot come the end of round eight.
After back-to-back defeats against Leipzig away and Stuttgart at home, they bounced back with a win and draw against Hoffenheim and Augsburg respectively.
On their travels, they have won one, drawn one and lost one, scoring in all three matches - something Dortmund will have to be mindful of.
Midfielder Said El Mala (19) has three league goals to his name already, and he will be their not-so-secret weapon once again this weekend.
It's grim reading for Koln fans who will be sick of the sight of Dortmund. The Black and Yellows have won four of the last five head-to-heads, including a 4-0 victory last time out.
Dortmund did the double over them last season - without conceding - and had previously beat them 6-1 back in 2023. Koln are up against it.
Although Koln are siting in 6th place in the Bundesliga after seven matches, they have only played one side of real quality (Leipzig) - and lost. Dortmund will be in a confident mood to win, and Nathan Joyes is once again siding with the hosts.
Dortmund (4/9 with Betfred) are short priced favourites - but for good reason. Not only have they dominated against Koln in recent times, but they have looked the real deal this campaign - only slipping up once against Bayern in a narrow defeat.
But they didn't let that result impact them with a convincing display in Denmark midweek - and back at home they will want to prove to their fans they have what it takes to have a successful campaign.
Most impressively, away from their many goals, is their defensive unit. Only Leipzig have scored against them in the Bundesliga, and with Koln (6/1 with Betano) yet to trouble anyone of any real quality this season, the hosts can keep them at arm's length across the 90 minutes.
With Koln not expected to get on the scoresheet, I'm backing Dortmund to win and under 4.5 goals at evens. Good luck if you're following.
TIP: Dortmund to win and under 4.5 match goals at 1/1 with BetMGM.
