Both Bournemouth and Liverpool will be looking to return to winning ways on Saturday evening in front of the Sky Sports cameras. The Cherries fell short in stoppage time against Brighton on their travels, while Liverpool were held at Anfield vs relegation threatened Burnley.

Bournemouth better at home

Although Bournemouth were unable to hold on against Brighton last time out, they now haven't lost in their last five 90 minutes.

An away draw against Chelsea as well as beating Spurs at home has certainly boosted confidence and has helped lift the Cherries 10 points away from the bottom three.

There's still work to be done at home, but Bournemouth are turning a corner, only narrowly losing to Arsenal in front of their supporters in the last six weeks.

New signings are heading through the door this January transfer window, keeping the dressing room both fresh and competitive, and the Cherries look poised to have a much stronger second half of the season if one or two more are signed before the window shuts.

Liverpool six unbeaten on the road

Liverpool have had to endure a midweek trip to Marseille in the Champions League prior to this fixture, but do arrive in good form - despite the series of draws.

Unbeaten in the Premier League since the end of November, Arne Slot's side have gone 10 matches without defeat since losing 3-0 at home to Nottingham Forest.

Fans may not be happy with the six draws and there's certainly work to do, but Liverpool are becoming a much more difficult side to beat compared to the first third of the campaign.

Florian Wirtz has started to find some form for the club, too, with three domestic goals and an assist already in 2026.

Liverpool have won their last five meetings against Bournemouth, including a dramatic 4-2 win in the opening round of the season. Bournemouth have only won one of their last five against the reigning champions on home soil (W1 L4) which came back in 2023.

While Bournemouth are steadily improving, Liverpool are becoming the Premier League draw specialists. But without a draw between them since 2017, Nathan Joyes is leaning more towards the goal line when analysing the Premier League odds.

Goals anticipated

Bournemouth (14/5 with Betfred) are up against it according to the bookmakers despite having not lost in their last five matches inside 90 minutes. A theme, however, when the Cherries are involved is their inability to keep a clean sheet.

You have to go back to the beginning of December - eight matches ago - the last time the Cherries banked one. Since that rare 0-0, over 2.5 goals has landed in six matches and both teams to score has won in all eight.

Liverpool's (9/10 with Betano) recent matches have been a little more conservative but three of their last five away Premier League matches have comfortably hit over 2.5 goals - and four of their last five meetings with Bournemouth have as well.

The two sides shared a 4-2 result on the opening day of the Premier League season and no doubt a more confident Cherries side will be seeking revenge.

A repeat of that result is always on the cards with this chaotic Bournemouth side and this game could once again be rather open and see both teams have plenty of chances on the south coast.
