Chelsea take the short trip across London to face Brentford on Saturday hoping to build on their 2-0 win over Fulham before the international break. Enzo Maresca's side look like an outside shot to win the Premier League title, while the Bees are likely to fight for survival at the other end of the table. Bees to find life tough

It's going to be a tough season for Brentford. A new manager, several key players have jumped ship and those that have come in may not be up for the challenge.

And after a 3-1 opening day defeat against Nottingham Forest - having found themselves 3-0 down at half-time - their fans probably though the worst.

But two wins followed. Victories against Aston Villa and Bournemouth were not expected - and perhaps Brentford aren't going to be quite as bad as pundits made out.

Yet their defeat vs Sunderland proved they will have more bad days than good. At home, they have often proven to be very strong, which gives them hope, but without Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo scaring defences, Chelsea will look to strike and inflict their third defeat of the season.

Chelsea have a spring in their step

It has been a rather pleasing start to the Premier League campaign for Chelsea. After their 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace, they put five past West Ham before scoring two and collecting another three points vs Fulham. It's early doors, but Maresca's side look as though they will cause plenty of teams problems this campaign.

Title contenders? Perhaps not - but it's hard to see them finishing outside the top four - and their new signings look to be settling in just fine already.

However, the Blues do have several key players out injured. Romeo Lavia, Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill and Liam Delap are all sidelined. Yet Chelsea's incredible depth is why they are going to be a strong outfit this season. Even without several big names, Chelsea travel to West London full of confidence - and Brentford will need to dig deep to stop them.

Last season Brentford held Chelsea to a 0-0 draw at home, although lost at Stamford Bridge 2-1. However, it is worth noting that the Bees have beaten Chelsea in two of their last five meetings - losing just once.

Maresca's side haven't won away against Brentford since 2021 - although that may just change this weekend.

Typically, the Brentford Community Stadium hasn't been an easy venue to pick up points - but without their firepower this time round, visiting teams will be more confident that they can secure three points.

And with Chelsea flying at the start of the season - scoring five against West Ham on their travels a few weeks back - Maresca's side have a spring in their step after lifting the Club World Cup.

Make no mistake, this is a team that is capable of challenging for the title. With so much depth and attacking talent, Chelsea are a strong force and without having to deal with Wissa, the Blues can look to strike and win three Premier League matches in a row.

They may be odds-on, but the price should be shorter. If Sunderland can beat Brentford, so can Chelsea.
