Brentford face the Premier League champions on Saturday looking to be the fourth team to beat them in their last five. Arne Slot's side did bounce back with a midweek win in the Champions League, but there's certainly work to do to get back on track at domestic level.
Who will come out on top? Premier League football tipster Nathan Joyes provides his best bet.
Every time Brentford take one step forward, their inability to string two positive results in a row is preventing them from climbing up the table.
A draw vs Chelsea was followed by a defeat against Fulham. Their win against Man United was shortlived due to their loss against Man City. But once again Brentford bounced back with a win against West Ham - although a team not in form at present.
And so that cycle may be expected to repeat itself with Liverpool coming to town, but it's worth noting the Bees have only lost once at home this season - and that was by a single goal against free-scoring Man City.
However, not much was expected of Brentford this season, and Keith Andrews deserves plenty of praise for how he's lifted predictions amongst fans.
Liverpool's midweek result - and performance - against Frankfurt was much more like it from the reigning Premier League champions. A clean sheet once again evaded them, but at the other end of the pitch Slot's side were relentless - and ruthless - scoring five.
Goals have dried up for Liverpool of late - scoring just three in those four defeats - and Slot would have been incredibly pleased to see his team step up in Germany.
But now they will have to do it in a tough environment against a well-rested side with new ambitions this season. This will be another big test for Liverpool as the fixtures come thick and fast.
Brentford haven't had much joy against Liverpool in recent years. Since 2023, they've faced each other five times - and Liverpool have won them all. Last season, Slot's side defeated the Bees 2-0 on both occasions.
You have to go back to 2023 the last time Brentford beat Liverpool, which came on home soil and saw the Bees come out on top 3-1 winners.
Brentford will be hoping that they can take advantage of Liverpool's lack of clean sheets, although the visitors believe they have turned a corner after their success midweek.
Nathan Joyes has taken a look at the Premier League betting market and provided his best bet for the match.
Brentford (3/1 with Betfred) have scored in all but one of their matches across all competitions this season (Man City). At home, they've beaten Aston Villa (1-0), drawn with Chelsea (2-2) and beaten Man United (3-1).
It's worth mentioning that Villa - at the start of the season - were really struggling for goals.
Despite being one of the favourites to be relegated, the Bees have been defiant in the first quarter of the season, and although strikers have moved on, Igor Thiago's return to full fitness has been extremely well timed. The Brazilian has five Premier League goals to his name in eight appearances.
Liverpool (4/7 with Betano) are almost incapable of keeping clean sheets. Since registering one away to Burnley in September, they've gone eight games without keeping one. Slot, instead, is relying on his strikers to outscore teams.
It worked at the start of the season but defensive errors have began to outweigh what they can produce at the other end of the pitch - especially in the Premier League.
With that being said, goals are ready to be served up - combining both teams to score and over 2.5 match goals looks a sensible play. Good luck if you're following.
