Brighton take on Bournemouth on Monday evening on the south coast with both teams hoping to pick up the pace. With just one win in five for the hosts and visitors, there's work to be done from both camps to get back on track.
Our Premier League tipster Nathan Joyes analyses the action and puts forward his best bet.
With just one Premier League victory to their name in 2026, Brighton's European charge has slowed down significantly. There's plenty of time to rectify their recent drop off, but with just a sole win over Burnley since Christmas, Fabian Hurzeler has his work cut out.
Dropping points against West Ham and at home to a far from full strength Sunderland side has undoubtedly frustrated fans, who will know how important this fixture is in order to stay with the chasing pack.
At home, however, the Seagulls have been strong. They've won five, drawn four and only lost once in that dramatic 4-3 against Aston Villa. With five of their seven Premier League wins coming on home soil, this is clearly where they do their best work.
Danny Welbeck scored the winner against Man United last weekend in the FA Cup, and although 35, the forward has eight Premier League goals to his name - could he be the difference once again?
The 30th August 2025. That's the last time Bournemouth managed to win three points on their travels. Nine matches across all competitions have followed with no joy (D4 L5) - conceding at least twice in each and every one of those games. Something needs to give.
That nearly came in the FA Cup last weekend against Newcastle, only for Anthony Gordon to equalise in the 95th minute and Newcastle win on penalties. Still, Bournemouth conceded three in the match which isn't sustainable.
A 3-2 win before that match over Spurs - albeit at home - will have boosted confidence within the camp, but they need to start winning on the road to make sure they don't get pulled further down the table.
Antoine Semenyo has left, but Vasco's highly rated Rayan Vitor is being lined up as a replacement this window. The sooner he arrives, the better.
This is often a fixture that produces plenty of action as the last five have seen over 2.5 goals land. Brighton have won three, while Bournemouth have won the other two - draws aren't a common theme between these two sides.
Brighton, however, have won four of the last five home matches against the Cherries, who haven't won since 2019 on the road but did come out on top 5-0 on that occasion.
It's fair to say that neither side is pulling up any trees at moment. However, back at home, it's impossible to look past a positive result for the hosts.
Nathan Joyes has taken a look at the Premier League odds for this match and puts his best bet forward.
Brighton (5/6 with Betfred) are expected to record their sixth home win of the season and build on their 2-0 victory over Burnley. With Bournemouth (11/4 with Betano) struggling on the road, no doubt the Seagulls will be a popular bet.
But there's a way in which we can get more juice out of their price by adding in over 2.5 match goals. Not only has this bet landed in their last five head-to-heads, but it has also landed in all of Bournemouth's last nine away games since their last victory.
Unable to keep a clean sheet, conceding twice in all nine and at least three in seven, the Cherries are a catastrophe at the back and Brighton should have enough quality to pick them off.
Brighton are unbeaten in four across all competitions, drawing with Man City at the Etihad in between wins vs Burnley and Man United, and this looks a great opportunity to make it back-to-back Premier League home wins for the first time in 2026.
