Two evenly matched sides meet in the opening game of the midweek round, with just three points separating Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt in the table.
Stuttgart have one of the lowest-rated home attacks in the league, while Frankfurt’s away defence has been the poorest in the division. On the other side of the matchup, Frankfurt boast the third-best away attack, but Stuttgart’s home defence ranks sixth overall.
With strengths and weaknesses on both sides lining up closely, this contest could balance itself out over 90 minutes, which makes the draw a realistic option to consider.

Hamburger SV vs Bayer Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen were taken apart by Stuttgart at the weekend, conceding four goals for the first time this season in a heavy home defeat.
They still look vulnerable at the back, but the attacking threat remains, which points towards another open game here against a Hamburg side involved in plenty of goals. They have seen both teams score in all six of their matches against sides ranked second through to eighth in the table.
Both teams to score is priced on the short side, but there does appear to be some value in backing each side to score at least twice in what could turn into a high-scoring affair.

Borussia Dortmund vs Werder Bremen
After conceding what looked like a 92nd-minute winner for Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday night, Borussia Dortmund still found a way to take a point, with substitute Carney Chukwuemeka equalising four minutes later.
That result extended Dortmund’s unbeaten run in the Bundesliga to nine matches, and they look well placed to push that sequence into double figures here. Performances at home have been particularly convincing, with the hosts yet to concede a goal in any of their league wins at Signal Iduna Park this season.
Niko Kovac’s side have shown good control in those fixtures, making Dortmund to win to nil stand out as an appealing option at the prices.

Mainz 05 vs Heidenheim
It is a six-pointer between the league’s bottom two sides on Tuesday, and it is hard to see a clear route to success for Heidenheim.
Mainz have drawn three of their last four home matches, keeping a clean sheet in their most recent outing at MEWA Arena, and they look well placed to finally secure their first home win of the season here.
If Mainz do get the job done, it is likely to come in a low-scoring contest.

Wolfsburg vs FC St. Pauli
Wolfsburg were thrashed 8–1 by Bayern Munich on Sunday, but this looks a decent spot for a response.
Since beating Hamburg on their opening away trip of the season, St Pauli have gone seven matches without a win on the road, managing just three goals across that run.

RB Leipzig vs SC Freiburg
RB Leipzig’s most recent home game brought their first dropped points of the season at the Red Bull Arena.
Even so, it followed a familiar pattern for Leipzig, with four goals scored and chances at both ends. It was the first time they failed to score at least twice at home, although the underlying numbers suggested they should have managed that comfortably.
A goals-based angle again looks sensible here against a Freiburg side that were involved in an eight-goal contest away to Bayern Munich recently.

Köln vs Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich were clinical in front of goal during their 8–1 win over Wolfsburg at the weekend.
That demolition came at home, but their attacking output has been just as reliable on the road. Bayern have scored at least three goals in all six of their away triumphs this season.
With that level of production continuing week after week, it is hard to look past Bayern goals again here.

Hoffenheim vs Borussia Mönchengladbach
Hoffenheim have won each of their last four home matches, scoring 13 goals across those games.
They should have enough quality to come out on top against Borussia Mönchengladbach, who have picked up away wins only against the bottom three sides. Outside of those results, Gladbach have managed just a single point on the road, which leaves them vulnerable in a fixture like this.

Getting goals on side is usually a sensible approach in the Bundesliga, and an Asian goals line of 2.25 looks appealing here even with these two teams.
